Blue mountains 4-8-23

On Saturday my dad and Curtis made the trip up the Rose Springs snow park south of Pomeroy and met up with a few of us who were staying in the Clearwater Big House cabin. They arrived at the cabin around 9:30am just as we were finishing up with breakfast. We headed up NF40 in an attempt to reach the...

Re: Ahtanum Gromming Sitrep?

About three-four years ago DNR changed the official gate opening date to May 1st instead of April 1st. And they will usually extend the closure into June once it gets close to May 1st. I've given up trying to plan wheeling trips for Darland loop in spring time, multiple times I would pick a date aft...

Ahtanum snow run 1/23/22

Awesome weather in the mountains on Sunday. We left town around 6am and had to travel a little slow due to the freezing fog. We finally got above the fog around Tampico to find nice blue skies. We parked the tow rigs at the snow park which was an ice skating rink, and then headed back down to the Na...

Re: Camping...?

State land and DNR land like Ahtanum is completely closed. Day use will begin re-opening up starting on May 5th on a rolling basis, whatever that means. But USFS land has been open this entire time, at least that's the case with Umatilla and Wenatchee national forests. Dispersed camping is allowed h...

Want to get this thing sold, what does everyone think a reasonable price is? I paid more than what I am asking plus had it shipped up here from Southern Cali. Highlights are new Jasper motor still under warranty with 10k miles. Crate dana 44 axles with ARB lockers, rear is a currie housing. Clean l...

Camp Shamp v1 - April 4-7, 2019

We had a great weekend of camping and jeeping. We had the entire snow park to ourselves. It snowed on us a bit on Saturday and Sunday mornings. On Friday we went up Nasty Creek and made an loop that I haven't been on in a long time. There was plenty of snow, and it took us all day to make the loop. ...

Peak Putters Cowiche Mill snow run

On Saturday Jan 26th we went for a snow run up to Cowiche Mill. We had a big turnout, I believe 13 rigs total. We dropped off tow rigs at the Sno Park and then headed back down to the Nasty Creek corals and headed for Cowiche Mill. The weather was very nice and got warmer the higher we went. We made...

ISO couple stock Jeep wheels with roller tires

Looking for two cheap Jeep wheels (4.5x5) with stockish sized tires that I can use for rollers. Don’t care about the tires as long as they hold air, just need them to put on the front of my parts Comanche so I can roll it around the driveway.

Cowiche Mill Snow 1-20-18

There wasn't much snow, but we found enough to have some fun. The weather was perfect, nice and sunny with little wind. We made it past the big drift no problem, but once we got into the trees it started to get tight and icy in spots so we headed back down and made a fire for lunch. We then went exp...

Re: Peak Putter family loss

Thanks guys. Was cool to see current and past club members attending the funeral yesterday. Last night a lot of us Kauer family had rounds of whiskey shots in honor of my grandpa. He loved Ancient Age whiskey, but we couldn't find it at the store so we had to settle for R&R :D .

Re: 15`s or 17`s

I agree with staying at 15's for tires under 37" for off-road. I think a cheap set of black Pro-Comp steelies is the way to go. The industry standard for truck wheels is highly marketed towards 17's and larger because most trucks and JK's these days come with 17's or larger, and it's easy for p...
