http://www.peakputters.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3638 Lots of flag mounts in that post. I never really paid attention, but there sure are a lot of flags in that thread. Only the rides that where not running the dunes that day did not display one. All sorts of mounting points. Front, rear, side, and...

http://www.peakputters.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3638 Lots of flag mounts in that post. BTW, it isn't that your constant useless droning on about what the government does or doesn't do is falling on deaf ears, but rather we already have a designated curmudgeon. You, unfortunately, are late to the g...

Re: Question on mounting points
I have (what may at first seem to be) a stupid question,... About mounting points and angles for the flags. I see alot of people with the flag mounted to the rear of the vehicle. Doesn't that kinda defeat the point of the flag? Since when you are cresting a dune or something similar your jeep will ...

Admittedly It was speed reading, and not all was retained :( ( a certain yellow jeep without a flag in juniper ;) Anyone, Anyone,... Bueller,... And I am Quite aware of...

flags
Btw ,.. Do you think BLM would agree to let me put a few loaner flags out there? Kinda like the life jackets at Two Rivers park? Just like a white pvc tube sunk in the ground somewhere it would not be in the way that I could put a few flags in for newbies to the area to use and hopefully return for ...

shocked
I was shocked too!
That is why my reaction to the Deputy sending me away was kinda harsh.
And do you really think I would get anywhere complaining about it to them?
Besides what would be the point, It's not gonna change the past.

Which sheriff's department did you call? Benton, Franklin, Walla Walla? Which parks and recreation did you call that said you do not need a flag? Richland? Kennewick, Pasco? Kalotus? recreation.gov that you sited only lists Juniper as a wilderness area; i.e. no vehicles allowed... no bikes, not eve...

Toby you must be a secretary to type that much in a reasonable amount of time. :lip: So how can we contain this issue so it isn't a regular occurrence? I realize that for juniper its a simple matter of amending the rules sign with the blm's blessing but what about for other areas? Perhaps a sticky ...

Re: signage
Seriously, Do you still think this was about the flag? Isn’t that the point of your post? I realize you have taken it way off topic with your general disdain for authority, but… yeah, it was about the flag… No ,it is about availability of information. Plenty of information available if you lo...

Re: signage
Um,... I asked the sheriffs dept .(is it my fault a previous sheriff gave me inaccurate info?) the parks and rec. dept. (who also said there were no legal requirements for whip flags on 4x4 trucks on that land) and referenced the recreation.gov website http://www.recreation.gov/marketing.do?goto=/n...

Here is another example of BLM's definition of ORV contradicting Washington State's official definition,... http://www.wsp.wa.gov/traveler/docs/equipmt/offroad_atv.pdf So why can't BLM just say "all vehicles" if that is what they mean? Instead of using an acronym that Washington State and ...

Re: off highway or off road

funny
Funny part was I found and read the rules, but because BLM for some reason uses a different definition of OHV or ORV than Washington State's Official definition. that is what caused the confusion, and I am sure continues to cause confusion for others. State managed federal land use rules should shar...

OHV official definition
Not to beat a dead horse here but by strict definition OHV= E. "off-highway motor vehicle" means a motor vehicle designed by the manufacturer for operation exclusively off the highway or road and includes: (1) "all-terrain vehicle", which means a motor vehicle fifty inches or les...

Oh and that part about the 6' height, is that 6' higher than the roof of the vehicle or just the whip has to be 6' long regardless of mounting point? I have a 5' C.B. antenna attached to my diamond plate toolbox . And I am pretty sure those 6' whips are allowed to be attached to the bumper and if so...
