Re: Free to a Good Home

You got it, Mike. Friday will probably be my first free time. So can you come by then...or sometime this weekend?

Free to a Good Home

I have the stock soft top off of a 2010 JKU. I don't think it was ever used, but the Jeep was three years old when I bought it so I'm not certain. ALSO...I have the stock 17" 5x5 wheels off the same JKU. I thought things were slow with the listing on Craigslist, then the place I bought my tires...

Re: Soft Tops

I have a Bestop Trektop NX on my JKU and I like it. It's never sealed well, and makes a fair amount of noise, but it weighs a helluva lot less than the hard top and looks better than the stock soft top (which also didn't seal well). Mine is on its third year and doesn't show much sign of wear. If yo...

I've got one and we can negotiate the price. PM me if you're interested. Or my cell is 208-569-3364 (it's an Idaho number, but I live in Pasco). Assuming you haven't already bought the one previously mentioned.

I like the layout and it's easier to read. There's lots of white space. Thanks.

If it's not rusty the price isn't bad.

I thought about cutting it, but thought someone might have a rig that could use the extra foot. I'll get a hold of you, Yrjan.

Trade a 60" Hi-Lift for a 48" Hi-Lift

My last rig was pretty tall, so I bought a 60" hi-lift jack to carry in it. That same jack is mounted on the back of my unlifted JKU now and to call it overkill is an understatement, so I'm looking to trade it for the 48" version. It's in very good condition, no rust or damage, and that's ...

Any Horror Fiction Fans?

Maybe this fits better in the FOR SALE section? Today Crossroads Publishing released my short story collection (ebook only). There's 13 short stories, three which haven't been previously published. Some of it's mainstream horror, but there's also Lovecraftian, erotic, and extreme horror. All are pre...

I've got one out of a full sized truck (Ford, I think) you can have. It's big, though. somewhere in the 30 - 35 gallon range. I've been thinking of scrapping it because the project I bought it for is long gone. If you're interested, I can dig it out and measure it.

I've got an SM420 and an SM465, if you're primarily building a trail machine. Both require rebuilds, I imagine.

Putting in a Super 35 kit moves your weak point from the axles to the ring and pinion. I'd choose to change an axle shaft on the trail over a ring and pinion. The Super 35 is going to cost you, what, $1200 installed? You can probably get an 8.8 or Isuzu D44 installed for something less than $2k and,...

I'll agree with Iaccocca, but my reasoning is different. A D30 will last with 37s if you are careful on the pedal and stick to moderate trails. I'd be more worried if I had a D35 in the rear. What I'd use to decide on tire size is whether or not: A) Breakover angle has been a problem as your wheelin...

Cool. I'm an SBC fan as well. Have a stroker sitting on the engine stand which, while fairly new, lost old pressure early on and I don't yet understand it. Have to figure that out. In any case, sweet ride. I look forward to watching you build the Gladdie.

Got it done under insurance as well, but they weren't well versed on the thing. I still have to install the wiper motor myself because the guy's scratching and staring told me I didn't want him trying to remove the arm on it. But it only cost $100, so that was nice.
