Re: Recovery Ropes

Have a Bigfoot (made in WA) and the few times I've pulled JKs with it, works well. The few pulls I've done were slow but didn't have any kind of "jerk" to them, just smooth. As a side note, standard tow strap have there place and will still carry them but not for pulling. Also have moved t...

Re: Pole barn or shop kit recommendations

Are you set on a pole building? It's a bit spending upfront but I'd look at SIPs (structurally Insulated Panels). This give a very good insulation and easier construction but does require a foundation like stick. The size, if you can make it a bit deeper like 30 feet, it will make it nicer if you ha...

Might have one, have to look tonight.
The springs are fairly weak and wouldn't hold the plate while wheelin'.

Don't really care, just something to put on 1/2 doors when the top is off.
Windbreak for spring or late fall running.

As of today, not sure there is good snow anywhere.
If you do decide to go, want to post up where a non-member can see. I'd be up for a mid week run too.

If you can't find a manual, the input gear is an easy swap if you find an auto.

During the last run my rear locker stopped working. After pulling the fluid it started working again but the ring & pinion wasn’t wearing correctly. Well, the solution was, let’s put JK gears in. Jantz seems to have the explanation http://www.jantz4x4.com//jantz.php?p=detail&pro=jana_k4 Belo...

If using the stock compressor, plug the transfer port and use a heavy grease.

NITB Cabin Fever

Went had a good time. Trail selection is that morning and after talking with the trail bosses, chose Compressor over Denver creek. Both trails required two lockers and winch. There were other trails but did want to do FS roads in the snow. They served breakfast and an awesome pulled pork dinner alon...

Clockum snow run

Went up Clockum Pass with EWA.
Snow was soft, everyone got stuck, lots of winch line was pulled, and as most runs everyone had a good time.

Re: YJ mods, an on going thread.

When Buying wheels and tires, I steeped up and got 5 of each. All good but was pretty sure the stock tire carrier wasn’t going to hold a 37 with steel beadlock, seems to be a heavy combo. Plan was to build a carrier that not only could carry the tire but also be used as a “push” bumper Incase it’s n...

Re: YJ mods, an on going thread.

The tires have been rubbing on large bumps, not so bad by yourself but with a pass. it becomes annoying. So out comes the grinder and off comes more bondo.

Re: YJ mods, an on going thread.

Been awhile since updating but have done a couple small things. To keep up with every other Jeeper, LED tail lights were added. We’ll my stockers were slightly beat, barely working, and the LEDs were easy, reasonably priced, and not sticking out to grab something. And BIG surprise, the driver’s side...

Would love a toyhauler about the size above, but where did you find a short one that A: fit the Jeep and B: had the load capacity? or was that not an issue?
