Re: Local Vendors. . .Raves and Rants

Looking for someone to install a front axle e-locker in my 2021 Ford F-150 Tremor. I would like to purchase the locker myself and pay someone for the install. Truck already has provisions for the switches (Ford up-fitter OEM).

Can you help me understand this bump stop thing? Not sure I am understanding - wouldn't I run the bump stop that the kit called for? Or do I get something else?

Second part - if I order this from Quadratec or online wherever, is it truly a bolt on kit? I am thinking short arm not long. I want something that will keep all the alignment correct. Can it be done in the garage on stands?

2014 Rubicon 2 Door Suspension Lift Advice

So, I want to be able to run 35" tires with stock fenders. I have looked at Rubicon Express, AEV and Teraflex lifts. Thinking 3.5".

Thoughts on which of those are better for 70/30 road to off road?

Thinking about KM2 tires. Planning on 17x9 new offset rims.

Mirrors after JK door removal?

Is it legal in the states of WA and OR to have the doors off of a street legal Jeep and still drive it on the street or highway? Second question assuming the above answer is yes, I assume you still need at least a driver's side rear view mirror? What is the best way to get one attached? Do I also ne...

I had read that some dealers might give an owner grief if we relocate it versus just adding a skid. I really don't want to argue warranty versus non-warranty with a dealer so I am going to look for a skid. Think Rock Hard makes one...

Thanks all. Is the Evap canister in the same spot on a 2 door and 4 door? My rubicon is a manual tranny.

Just to clarify, it is a Rubicon X, not the older 'X'.

That's interesting as I have always been a believer in "practice makes perfect"...but, the suggestion actually came from a club member and not the Internet or Quadratec... I would be really happy to not spend any money on plates, but I also don't want to be learning the "hard way"...

'14 JK Rubicon Skid Plates?

I have been given advice to add some skid protection to my stock Rubicon and think that's a good idea since I am planning trips to Moab this fall and next Spring. I want something that bolts on without modification to the Jeep and will allow oil changes without removal of the plates. This is a daily...

Hover March 23rd 2014

Posted the run on Wednesday before and had some interest from Yrjan and another PP. Unfortunately those two had conflicts later and could not make it. Day of the run we met at the entrance to Hover at 1:00 PM. Had myself and three other Jeeps - 1 JK, 2 JKU and a TJ. First up was butt crack and that ...

Right now I am leaning towards the Zeon 10-s. Will probably use the Maximus-3 mount plate vs the Mopar to get it centered. Will need to cut the bumper to center but I think it will be worth the finished "look"!

Thanks all for the info....
