2019 Pick up a Mountain

Another great event in the books. I think the Peakputters had the best turnout than any other club. Thank you to all who came.

I will post some pics when I get them downloaded.

Please post your pics and stories. I know there are some!

Re: Pick up a Mountain 2019

I think I'm ready. Had a nail in my tire when I pulled the black jeep out of the garage. :( Hook up, gas n go in the morning. The plan is to head for the river, SE corner, as usual for PUAM. If that area is taken, we'll go for the NW corner where we were for the 50th. Can't wait. 20190919_184918.jpg...

New Tru-infared bbq $160 obo

Well, almost new, used once. My company threw a driver appreciation/tailgate party at Dustdevil stadium. The bosses bought this bbq and cooked for us on it. Then raffled it off as the grand prize, along with some other stuff. Naturally, I won the grand prize  , but don't really need it. I'l...

8) Love that swimmin' hole. Saw it for the first time during Jamboree.
I also saw a picture of a certain Seahawk colored JKU, towing a camp trailer, driving right through the mudslide on SR410. Hats off to Rick for powering through to camp. 8)

Re: PNW4wda Trail Jamboree 2019

Friday's run was the Clover Springs/Mud Springs. I did not go on this one because we wanted to make sure we got back in time to head over 410 to the Tacoma Dome for the Queen concert. As it turned out, the Peakputter hosts made great time and were back with their group before we left. I heard it was...

Re: PNW4wda Trail Jamboree 2019

First thing, a big THANK-YOU to Al, Michael, Corey, and Doug for trail hosting this years Trail Jamboree representing the Peak Putters! The Desert Rats added another small group of hosts to man the Tech inspection area. Our plan was to camp near them and help where we could. About a week before the ...

Re: Fender Flares

Hi. I don't know much about JK flares, even though I just recently bought a 2 door. I have MCE Fenders on my TJ that I really like. I have seen them up close on a local JK and they look really nice. The prices, however, have gone through the roof since I bought my TJ fenders. But, If your stock JK f...

Recently changed my tie-down program to these. Could not be happier with how clean and easy they are to use compared to axle straps :thu:

That looks so easy! Where do you get those?

Re: Recreational towing recommendations

Pretty sure more states require a breakaway system than they do a full on supplemental brake for flat towing. Ready Brake makes a pretty good breakaway cable (similar to their braking system) that you can install cheaply on its own. Of coarse lots would have to fail for it to even activate. Hitch an...

FS 5 JK Sahara wheels and 35x12.5x18 MT's SOLD!

I have a set of 5 JK Sahara wheels with 35x12.5x18 Firestone Destination MT tires mounted on them. The wheels are in excellent shape with no scrapes or curb rash. They still have the factory TPMS sensors in them. The tires are in pretty good shape, siped, and have over 50% tread left. They are balan...

So my "on road" review of this 2016 JK Sport 2dr. Freaking awesome. :thu: This thing is a blast to drive. Smooth, powerful, and very comfortable. I almost feel bad about giving anybody who owned one a hard time over the years. My old Nissan Altima daily driver was just no fun. Ev...

Re: TJ's JK

The maiden voyage was a success! The Jeep towed like it wasn't there. And look at all the room I have in between the Jeep and the camper that was taken up by a trailer last year. https://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj238/pinkeye_photos/JK/20190524_072616_zpsjtawajpt.jpg Fishing pole mod https://i273...

TJ's JK

So, I was having a hard time deciding if I wanted to set up the black TJ for flat towing again. A couple of trips we have been on, and some locations we would like to visit, there is just no room for a car trailer. I was troubled with dragging the TJ with the lockers, low gears, and spendy MTR's. So...
