Those wheels look awsome on an XJ! I just stored my 33's for the winter and put some Rubi wheels and 245/75 AT's on my Jeep for the winter. Now it looks kinda stupid  Think I'll be looking for a used XJ this spring for a daily driver! PS. that's a great deal for Toby's set, I paid $400 for 4. ...

If chains are required for non-commercial vehicles, 99% of the time the state patrol will let you by their checkpoint if you have four wheel drive and all season tires. If it gets any worse they usually close the pass. At this time of year if it closes, it is only for a couple hours to let the plows...

It's amazing what a little water will do for traction in soft sand. I can't count how many times I have started hopping in soft sand in a mixer or dump truck weighing #55,000+. Squirt some water around the tires and their path and drive right out. Problem is getting water to the extraction area. It ...

I wonder if a Rubi has a little bit different tire carrier since the stock moabs are a bit wider than a stock TJ wheel. :?: That could be the difference maybe. My 32x11.50 tires on the black D-window wheels fit just right with the hockey puck trick. I was thinking I would probably have to shave some...

I bought some hockey pucks and shaved the sides off them to match the stock tire bumpers. Drilled a hole through the middle and bought some longer bolts (metric on those ones) Had to go to Tacoma screw to get ones with a allen head on them, since Lowes only had them with a standard bolt head. They w...

Some campin' stuff for free
Found some camping stuff we don't use anymore while cleaning out my pack-rat areas. 12x12 dining canopy(poles & tarp type), Ozarc single burner propane camp stove, 2 astro-turf patio mats 6x8, 7x9??, folding camp rocking chair, folding beach chair. --free

Thanks for the lug nut info guys. Trash, It will be every other weekend, but with two trips across each time, it might as well be! I think the Rubi wheels will work good, and with the smaller tires bringing my gearing back closer to stock, I might even get to use overdrive and pick up a few MPG's so...

Well Mr. Trash, I appreciate your candor! My concern was/is that I do not want to have them half worn by next spring. I love the tires, but they were a tad spendy, and you know how slow my work has been lately! Each weekend with my kid involves 2 trips to North Bend. I racked up over 100k miles on m...

Sorry, I start typing and can't stop! QUESTION: Do stock rubicon wheels (like the cool ones on Lee's Jeep) need special lug nuts or will the lug nuts that are holding my black wheels on my Jeep work for Rubicon wheels as well? I bought some Rubi wheels and skinny tires to run for winter. Thanks for ...

well, as some of you noticed at the Pick up a Mountain of garbage run last weekend, I had a set of new 33" Toyo MT's on the little black TJ. They seemed to work much better than the bald schwab terrain they replaced. Now my lovely (not) ex-wife informs me that in her self induced financial cris...
