Re: I'm dreaming of a white YJ Christmas...
Oh, you want the REAL story.
My 13yo daughter really likes the YJ. I have three years to get it "done" for her, and want it to be more "driver friendly" and "beautified".
Shhhh, she doesnt know.

Re: I'm dreaming of a white YJ Christmas...
This was the second leaf setup I ran and both bent pretty bad. I'm afraid of breaking a leaf on the trail. It happens when I back up a steep hill and the axle wraps in reverse. Going with a coil setup. I snagged a set of front lift coils for a TJ that should work nicely. I should be able to reuse th...

Re: I'm dreaming of a white YJ Christmas...
Now that the rear axle has proper gears, the front needs to match. The front brakes were shot, u-joints have seen better days, and springs were bent pretty bad, so I opted to removed this tired axle and replace the entire front end with the one from my Cherokee, that is already geared 4:88 and locke...

Re: Seeking Input for Cheap Commuter Rig
We bought our little Kia Spectra for about $6k several years back. We've put about 100k miles on it so far with no major issues, just a timing belt, alternator, and oil changes. Not your $2k dollar range, but sure got a lot for what we put into it.

Re: I'm dreaming of a white YJ Christmas...
So, after wheeling this thing for a few years now, I decided it really needs the proper gearing, and a lunchbox locker in the rear makes it too squirrelly on the road. Switching to 4:88's and a limited slip. I went with the "Ford Racing" limited slip clutch kit, so it hooks up better. Sett...

We never over-pay, and always owe taxes.
Regardless, I still splurged. I now own some killer Dana 44 parts and an 18' enclosed trailer/car hauler. My driveway is really cramped now...

Front axle: ~'90 Wagoneer narrow (~60") low pinion. Already regeared to 5.13, 3-series carrier, Spartan lunchbox locker. 3-series carrier is more desirable, even though it requires the thick cut ring gear. This carrier will support modification to fit JK Dana 44 R&P's down the road if I hav...

Re: CHEEP evolution
OMG, 3 years since I posted here! Christmas goodies from last year include Fox 2.5 remote-reservoir coil-overs, 14" travel. This year, I picked up a 35 spline ARB for the rear and Nitro axles. I am sticking with the 3-series carrier and thick-cut gears. The front axle is getting Nitro chromoly ...

I don't think that's an Early Bronco axle. It looks like a late 70's F250 axle with the large cast wedges, full width.

I've noticed a whole lot more side-by-side market increase than Jeep stuff.
The RV sales here in the Tri Cities has grown more in the last 3 years than what was posted. It's just plain gone insane.

Does your current jeep have lockers? That would be #1 on my list to improve off-road worthiness.

Re: Where to get bigger propane tanks?
Used propane tanks are fine but buyer beware: all portable tanks are date-coded. First date stamp is good for 12 years before requiring recertification. Recert is good for 5 years. Recert cost is currently about $50. Most filling stations know this and will not fill outdated tanks. A&L Compresse...

Not name-calling, just poking fun. Last I checked, it was the goal of this group to have fun together.
