I'm running a Firestik with the heavy duty Firestik spring. Amazon is the place the buy them. It's taken a beating and still works. This. Same here. I've broken a firestick in a parking garage, but that was more do to it grinding it down and messing with my tune. With the spring they just bounce of...

Pretty cool, but the T-Rex Insurance would make the payments too high.

I've got something similar on mine. The tire carrier is pretty heavy with the full size spare, and I've towed some pretty heavy stuff for short distances. No problems at all.

I do too. Tubing would be clean and easy. And if you used some bendable 6063 aluminum, a whole lot lighter.

The 700 code is a general, there's a transmission problem code, and you need to check the TCM for transmission specific codes. The 605 code is a ROM error code, which could be caused by a lot of different things, but in this case I'm guessing you have some sort of wiring issue, probably related to t...

Unfortunately, I think a couple of brand new transmissions are cheaper than a DRBIII reader. You're probably gonna have to find a shop with one. I think you are right. I borrowed a code reader from Gerald. Got an additional code that did not appear when I did the ignition trick. I also checked all ...

Did a bit of looking at the FSM, and it seems that aside from checking wiring, fluid, and shifter cables, a lot of the diagnostics rely on further codes from the TCM. Here's a copy of the 42RLE Transmission Diagnostic Procedure Manual referenced in the Factory Service Manual. http://www.sonriseorcha...

Got a chance to look at my service manuals. I only have a 2005 TJ manual for the later years but I can't imagine it being much different, the transmission was the same. Looks like the TCM is a submodule of the PCM. If it were me, I would unplug all the PCM connectors, its on the passenger side of th...

Anyone have access to one, or know where I could get advanced codes read? Preferably in Pasco as my Jeep is stuck in 2nd and can only do 35mph. Something has told the Jeep to go into "limp mode". I disconnected the battery for a couple hours at camp Sunday to clear the code. Worked for ab...

Didn't want to pay $130, or wait for shipping on a hub puller. 3 - $0.50 exhaust clamps, a few holes, and an old brake drum. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g295/localfiend/hubpuller1_zps60638d74.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g295/localfiend/hubpuller2_zps223ac6fb.jpg

I assume these are yellow jackets? My brother and I used to dig up the hives and kill them with old golf clubs. Not sure if I'm fast enough for that anymore. Fire should do the trick. Some lighter fluid and a match has worked in the past. If the hive is really big, a hose will drown the nest and pes...

You're right, it's not. It's a 44 of some flavor, and the rear is a Dana 53, not a 60. Too much bad info on the internet.

I've been really bad at updating my build threads. The Cherokee is up and running. After going over a several service manuals I was able to piece together a wiring diagram that should work for any 93-96 ZJ. 97-98 Will have a few more wires that need connecting. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g295...
