Re: Chainsaw buying help

My brother-in-law is a firewood cutting fool (sometimes he is fool cutting firewood and a certified firewood whore). He is very happy with his STIHL chainsaws and been using the same saws for years. I seem to recall that he uses a 20"+ for droppen trees and a 18" for knocking the limbs off.

Re: Pictures from a Recent Rimrock Scouting Trip

Ceg, that wet spot in the road was on 641. BTW, In my humble opinion, 641 is not a full-size truck trail. It is deceptively tight. About every tree next to the trail is worn with either winch marks or rubs and smeared with red, blue or yellow paint -- mostly red paint. I think it may be one of the t...

Peak Putters - Rimrock - Sept, 2007

Curtis, Roy, and I recently made a scouting trip to the Rimrock area. We ran a bunch of Trails on Saturday. Unfortunately, an ailing waterpump halted Sunday's run. Here are few pictures...I posted them in reverse order http://www.peakputters.com/runs/rimrock9-1-07/Image1.JPG http://www.peakputters.c...

Re: got to test the new(to me) boat

My brother was whew hoo'en and generally having a great time as I made way down river. there was so much spray in the air that we could hardly see. Little did he know how scared I wa...

I spend a lot of time driving gravel roads for work. A guy like that could kill me while I am scouting for deer, eating lunch, surfing the satellite radio and talking the cell-phone.

Jimmy, you will mostly likely need new coils with your new pump. I spoke to Kenny (Dayco) and was shocked by the price. I would track down a good unit, use someone's buisness number for the discount, and heavily grease Cim's palm for the install. Of all my Apollo buddy's there know one that does hea...

Is the original ShoeString Trail still on the Map

Can someone with a recent (last two years) verify if the Shoestring is still on the Yakima ORV map? I am referring to the route that takes you near the lake/pond/puddle/swamp.

benw gave you some good advice. That whole area gets nasty when wet. I would rather drive up Kaner than down it. Some of the steep hill climbs are really getting dug up.

That cop was likely fishing for something bigger. Be happy you that you got off with a warning because he could have wrote you up. While I lived in Dayton, I noticed that the local 4x4 guys ran huge mud flaps (trucker size) that tickled the ground in response to Sheriff's emphasis on tire coverage. ...
