Re: What did you do to your wheeler today?

Hook it up!
For those that find this post googling, your winch drum will heat up synthetic rope if you power out unless you have a winch like Lud's. It is like driving with your parking brake on.

Re: Chuck needed tire rotation

So... how stable is the trailer with two adults floppin' around upstairs? Does it have to be connected to the vehicle... or do you have outriggers planned? :P That is the trick. . .the way I built the trailer was 75/25 rear/front for axle placement. The trailer is light enough that I can still load...

Re: Chuck needed tire rotation

In anticipation of the 2" mattress not being enough squishy, I got a couple of the hybrid foam rubber egg crate matt and put them under the mattress cover on top of the stock mattress. I am happy to report that the alpha test was a success. It rained like crazy and then got really windy. The wi...

Just read the rules and make an appointment to get it inspection. Mine weighs less than 500lbs and has a 2000lb axle. You can also buy a Harbor Freight trailer and modify it.

Re: Trailer Wanted

Just build one. My basic frame only took a couple of days to put together and I suck at this sort of thing. My next step is to build a simple rack for my rooftop tent. (see what I did there?) https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-QT0GSRMCv4Q/VdUFFcC9xoI/AAAAAAAAVxs/onMpc_iIgFQ/s800-Ic42/2015-08-19.jpg

Re: Wanted: Help with Family Style Roll Cage

You might find a late model YJ cage, get a kit for the front and add bars as necessary. The YJ kit has bungs for the shoulder belts and goes back behind the rear seats. Here is the profile. . .your Jeep is longer of course but the B-Pillar bars will bolt in to your floors. http://extremecustomparts....

They have a variety of sleeves like that at Ranch and Home. Last time I needed some, I just cut the right sized tubing to lenght.
