Lud,

Did you try slamming the axle like a pogo stick on to a stout sufurce....e.g., piece of plywood on a concrete slab? The force should cause the bearing to slide down the shaft. I assuming that your axle did not break right below the bearing.

A few of the Peak Putter members and several guests ran trails in the Liberty are on July 4, 5, and 6. I have attached pictures from the weekend. Dion and I showed up early Thursday morning on July 3 to stake a camp site. We had a great day of swatt'en bugs and eat'en popsicles while waiting for fol...

I read the new WAC proposal. As I understand it. DNR is trying to standardize their event/activity permiting process; putting teeth in their enforcement of gated areas; and updating the WACs outdated definitions. The current WAC is 36 years old. FWIW, I don't think we should get too excited about th...

Peak Putters - Darland Mt. "Camp Schamp" Run - Apr

Roy called the annual Camp Schamp run to Darla Mt. The weather was sunny, cool, and calm. Most of us are sporting coon eyes and serious red noses by Saturday afternoon. There was plenty of snow -- some soft and some hard. Big tires were the ticket if you strayed from the pack. We ran Darla Mt loop o...

On the flip side, I always sipe my off-road tires. I am on my second set of sipped swampers with no problems. Before that, I had sipped BFGs and WildCountry MT without ill effect. There are sites on the web that give good reasons for sipping. Oddly, siping has been shown to increase tread life on tr...

Thanks for the responses... I am wanting a light aluminum rim for my spare tire carrier. Similar to you folks, I have various sizes steel rims. I know the aluminum is only a little lighter, but hey, you got to start reducing weight somewhere (like me tummy).

Thanks again guys...Steve

I got a kick out their slimmy press release. Apparently, they had no intention to passing this bill. They just wanted us to become aware of vehicle emmisions and the effect on the enviroment. Then why exclude RVs? My farts aren't as fowl as that bullshit.... Pinkeye is right on the money...they're t...

The bill had better exclude RVs. After all, it is mostly older folks who own RVs and who do most of the voting. It would be political suicide to piss that group off.
