They really went to town on this truck. Sledge hammer all the way around. All windows trashed, and front bumper/headlights ripped off.

Yep, glass. The scrooge plan is to hack the back off. I have lots of old headlights I can attempt it on. If that fails I'll just buy a cheap 30 dollar set made for H4's.

Had some old headlights in a drawer. Add a bit of aluminum foil to clean up the rusty chrome and here you go. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g295/localfiend/Jeep%20Chair/20150110_162036_zps9e135c65.jpg Spent $20 on some lamp parts. Sounds like they use the same switches as the Cherokee. You might have the right part sitting on your other project.

:? Well, I repaired the wiring for the fan motor. My test light indicates there is good power and ground to the motor leads now, but still no fan operation. Bummer. While I have the dash apart, I would like to fix the under-dash / dome light wiring. I was thinking of just getting LED strip lights a...

I've got one out of a full sized truck (Ford, I think) you can have. It's big, though. somewhere in the 30 - 35 gallon range. I've been thinking of scrapping it because the project I bought it for is long gone. If you're interested, I can dig it out and measure it. -Mikey- 30 Gallons would probably...

Wheeling & Fabrication Calculators

Seem like I'm always making a quick calculator in excel or searching the web for one when I've got a project going. Thought it might be handy to have a thread with links and descriptions to calculators you've found useful. Fuel Tank Calulator Made this one yesterday when trying to decide if I should...

Well, Pasco Auto Wrecking has tanks, but not a 97-01 Cherokee. Since I haven't found one of those anywhere, I'm opening up my restrictions a lot. Just about any tank will do. In tank pump would be cool, but an old school style tank would work as well. Just needs to fit be smaller than 39" Wide ...

WTB: 97-01 XJ Fuel Tank - Or any other tank....

Anyone got one lying around? The old fuel tank on the Gladiator is nasty, and in the way of dual exhaust. The later poly xj tanks will fit in the back, give a bit more volume, and have the correct ohm range for my gauges. I'll probably call Pasco auto wrecking tomorrow. Not sure if they puncture the...

I like the gauge panel, that's a nice looking piece you made. Who is the source for the indicator lights? The auto x truck is losing it's dash this winter so I'll be needing some of those. :D Yeah, it turned out nicer than I thought it would. Adding the brushed finish covers up all the flaws. The i...

I've been really busy since Thanksgiving. Not much time to breath with all the paperwork I've been saddled with at work. My free time, what little there has been has been spent in the shop. No more 327. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g295/localfiend/J200%203-4%20Ton%20Gladiator/EngineRemoval_zps3...

Cool project. Lots of YJ stuff going on lately.

Never tried mink oil on a soft top. Bestop had a conditioner that worked pretty good. Affordable detail over in Kennewick had some sort of water based coating that brought my old soft top back to life. Kept it looking good for a long time.

So yeah, apparently MTR's are harder to find than discount tire said they were. When I talked to them last Friday, they said they were in a truck on their way. Called them today, and they were never on a truck and won't be here till mid December. Dunno what that's about. Probably sold them to someon...

I'm with lurch on this one. Sounds like you've messed up either a fuse, power wire, or ground wire the 02 sensors.

The O2 sensors on your LJ have a built in heater and I'm betting they're not getting power. Take a voltmetet and check for power at a sensor, and continuity on the ground.

Ready Welder II

We've been needing a spool gun at work for a while now to weld the occasional aluminum part. I've always liked the Ready Welder concept, however they're rather expensive. If you're not familiar they're essentially a handheld mig welder. They can be powered by a stick welder, actual mig welder, or ca...
