Nope strike two.. They are mounted near the front axleshaft pointing out in the same direction as the wheel studs that have those shiny nuts that hold the tires and wheels on.. You can see their heads when you look in there carefully. I can't attach pics from my phone or I'd just do tha...

Those are the driveline bolts, they will need to be removed too. I was refering to the 3 bolts on the backside of the knuckle on the front axle. Oh ok, when you said knuckle the only thing that came to mind was the ones on the drive shaft. You're talking about these steering thingy bolts then right...

I'll check out 6 states and Randy's to see what everything comes too. I'm gonna need more jack stands so I may run into the Tri-Cites in the evening tomorrow and see what I can find. If I'm not mistaken all ya gotta do up front is pull the calipers then the 3 bolts holding the unit bearing to the kn...

Bang for the buck I'd put the yeep up on jackstands and deliver the stripped housings and all the parts to whatever shop you have do the work. I'd absolutely get full install kits, why risk the gears and labor on old bearings when a full kit is only $100 ish? I may have to do that, though at the mo...

Yeah, I'm mostly just trying to be informed. Everywhere I look on the internet, it seems that $1400-1500 is a huge ripoff (common consensus seems to be that the whole thing should be less than $1000)- so I'm trying to figure out what the full deal really entails. If it actually does cost more then s...

2001 TJ Re-Gear
As I mentioned in the introduction section I'm looking to re-gear my 2001 Wrangler (going from 3.73's to 4.88). I've got a 4" teraflex lift and 35's so it's rather necessary. Dana 30 front, Dana 44 rear. Just got a quote from Mireless in Prosser, and it looks like it'l be around $740 per axle (...

As a matter of fact, if you just upgrade your wiring and use a fog light relay you’d get an easy 25% more light, or more, from your factory fog lights. If you are interested, let me know and I’ll post up you the wiring diagram. That'd be great. My lights were cut when I bought it, and I wired t...

I doubt there is a written warrenty but when its grade A work you don't need one. ;) Well, with three glowing recommendations it sounds like I don't have anything to worry about. A quick question to avoid stupidity later: What's up with the name? Some 4x4 insider thing I don't understand? Is it put...

Probably works fine in 4-lo. It is just that hunting, etc. often means you are on your own and a winch is a bigger help than gearing when the stuff hits the fan (except if you are in the toolies around here in the sagebrush... ask me how I know.) Anyways, good looking Jeep; maybe someone will post ...

New to Offroading
Howdy! New to offroading, not new to the area. Just grabbed myself a jeep a few weeks ago and have been looking for the locals. Looks like I found a bunch of you. http://www.sonriseorchards.com/images/1.jpg 2001 TJ 60th Anniversary Edition 4.0L I6 3 Speed Auto D30 Front - D44 Rear 3.73 Gears 35x12.5...
