Re: 2005 LJ
To add switches to control things like auxiliary lights and the ARB compressor, I wanted to come up with something overhead because I simply love the "upfitter switches" offered by FoMoCo in their pickups and the 6G Bronco. After some research and mockup, I landed on a sweet little housing...

Re: 2005 LJ
Now that all of the body modifications were complete, it was time to address finding new homes for everything that was displaced underhood. These include the battery, fuse block, air cleaner, horn, evap purge solenoid, and the wiper fluid reservoir... Oh, and in my case the ARB compressor that I had...

Re: 2005 LJ
With the front fenders loosely relocated 3-1/4" up and the hood trimmed accordingly, it was time to address getting the rear fenders to match. This seemed simple, right up until I realized that the evap canister is hiding in the cavity behind the passenger rear tire... IMG_5615.JPG IMG_5616.JPG...

Re: 2005 LJ
So apparently the LJ isn't for the youngest minion anymore? Well, truth be told, it never really was... she laid claim to it the moment she saw it and in a moment of weakness my response just wasn't emphatic enough to keep her from thinking as much. Further, because of the bevvy of other junk at my...

Re: 2005 LJ
So there I was... staring at a perfectly good set of 39's just sitting on the shop floor... Next thing you know: IMG_5364.JPG IMG_5365.JPG A quick test drive revealed massive fender contact at pretty much every point imaginable, to nobody's surprise I might add, but I just couldn't sleep knowing how...

TJ / LJ Lower Control Arm Bolt Hole Relocation
No rocket science here, but keeping flatter control arm angles is usually beneficial for a bunch of reasons. In a TJ/LJ, the control arms are so short that it doesn't take much lift at all to make things really funky... Luckily for us, the factory frame mounts have a ton of meat on them below the or...

New Years Eve +/- Run 2023
For this year's event, our small group met up at the Maverick for an 0800 departure under foggy and gloomy skies, but we had high hopes for sunshine as we gained elevation. In the group were Dryside in the trusty white 6.0L powered JKU-R, Dan and Jenn in their grey 2021 JLU-R (accompanied by their d...

Re: NF-1302 to Cowiche Mill Road Exploration 17Dec2023
Just to provide some final clarity on the mythical gap trail issue, onX seems to currently provide what I've found to be the best view of the situation. NF-1302 to Cowiche Mill Road Exploration 17Dec2023
The mission for today was to FINALLY put the puzzle pieces together between NF-1302 and the maze of trails off of Cowiche Mill road... Looking for a full set of 5x4.5 wheels... I don't have any tires yet so I'm open to 15, 16, or even 17" diameter but the one stipulation is they must be a black, or at least predominately black, in design. Similarly, I'm open to either steel or aluminum construction.

Looking to clear out some space in the shop, and it's pretty evident that the Bestop Tiger Top that I bought back in 2002 isn't going back on the flattie... With most of the heavy lifting out of the way, it's time to address airing up the neighbor kids pool floaties :lol2 As much as I adore a good engine driven compressor, the ease of an electric outfit has really won over my laziness so an ARB twin was chosen for the task at hand. Re: 2005 LJ
What are you doing for a sway bar now? Long term, the plan will be to correct the geometry enough, primarily the roll center via correcting the trac bar angles, to where a sway bar won't be necessary for what little street driving this will ever see. Additionally, I'll eventually get around to outb...
