Wanted: carb tuning 258

Postby samplesmatt » Wed Feb 19, 2014 10:02 am

Anyone here know carburetors? 258 4.2L with Weber carb in need of tuning. Anyone out there willing to give it some attention and getting it running smooth?

Other possible mods
Nutter bypass. Don't know anything about it. Worth it or waste of time?

1. Throw in trash/sell on craigslist
2. Buy a Rochester 2G from Dan's garage for like $35 (get one from a 283 or 305)
3. Rebuild it
4. Install on your intake with a new gasket (don't forget the vac lines. . .)
5. Modify throttle linkage slightly to work
6. Tune the idle and throttle stop
7. Enjoy

Thanks guys. I can handle #1 and #2
1. Throw in trash/sell on craigslist
2. Buy a Rochester 2G from Dan's garage for like $35 (get one from a 283 or 305)

Will head to Dan's this afternoon.

After that, you lost me. Anyone in Kennewick with experience and time that can help me out? Would certainly cover parts and time. [/i]
