I'm guessing that the model shown will fit 33" and 35" tires. I'm on 33s now, but I imagine 35s are in my future. I got Christmas money and I'm gonna be in the market for one of these soon.

The short answer is Yes. The long answer is that I have two different sizes. One will fit 30" - 35" and the other will fit 33" - 38". I think I have one of each left right now. Feel free to give me a call.

I picked this up from B.J. today. Thanks for the great PNW4WDA discount. I can't wait to use this on a NPR run this summer. For those of you with the stock 3rd mount light, I had to modify that mount with a dremel, but the work that took me 15 minutes could probably be done by most in 5. Your results may vary.


Also per B.J.'s instructions I pulled the valve core and re inflated the spare tire after mounting and adjusting the rack to give it a tighter fit.

Is that rack setup putting too much load on the factory spare tire mount? I was under the impression that even an oversize spare is asking too much of the factory mount.

I don't think the rack is too much, empty. I bought the rack in anticipation of my new rear bumper with swing away tire mount. If the head engineer on that project ever gets done working on a Scout (is anyone ever done working on a Scout) I'm sure I'll be in fine shape.

But yes Steve, I believe the factory set up is not even up to the task of the factory Rubicon wheel and tire, much less heavier stock.
