3" Lap Belts

Hey, what's a couple of 3" lap belts gonna run me? Back in the day we used to pick 'em up from race teams on the cheap 'cause they had an expiration date on them. Now I guess it is common to send them off and have them rewebbed.
Anyways, I'm on the look out for a couple of sets for trail use, because I'm sick of the factory retractors pinning me in the seat just when I wanna take a look where I'm going.

You might want to rethink that. Belts will hold you in but will also allow your upper body fly around, ask WT and peanut about how much you move in a rollover.

The factory belts do that so won't get away. My Ford is real bad for it...

4 points or 5 points really aren't that expensive if you are looking to get rid of the retractable belts. You can pick them up anywhere from $50 on up depending on what you want. We paid a little more for ours because they are pink.

Trashy and I are still pretty bad about not wearing the shoulder straps, but mainly because we cant reach necessary things on the dash if we do. But that is going to change when the cab/body gets changed. We are moving things around a bit to make the truck more user friendly. I know lame excuse........

You never know when you could end up rolling. Trashy and I are pretty prime examples of that. 5mph down a forest service road. And yes, you move a lot and it hurts.

You'll want to keep the factory 3 point belts aswell unless you are going with a 4 point retractable harness. 4, 5 and even 6 point harness's aren't street legal because they don't allow for free movement.

I can sure relate to that! I am in the same boat and having been saying I'm gonna revamp the dash in controls for a while now.

This weekend my wife and I rolled a buddies rig (in our own field :lol2

) Fortunately we at least had the lap belts on but even so, I slipped out enough to get a concussion off of the one of the bars on the cage. That's convinced me to start making myself wear shoulder straps alot more.

I haven't changed the dash any but I did flip the quick release hub on the steering wheel so the wheel mounts behind it rather than in front of it. Now it is far enough away I have moved the sear forward so now I can reach everything.

Nice idea!

My problem is reaching the hand throttle (i use it alot) and arb button. I'm eventually gonna move em to the console. I need to redesign/rebend my shifter also. It's a little of a stretch to go from 1st to reverse quickly
