My Gladiator needs overdrive. I'd like something that can be adapted to a Dana 20 so that I can keep my PTO. I'd also prefer a manual because they're more fun.
That kind of leaves me with only Jeep transmissions as an option.
Anyone have an NV3550 or AX15 you don't need?

Yes it does. Probably should have mentioned that. Stupid adapters are going to cost more than the transmission itself.
If there's a Chevy overdrive that will bolt to a Dana 20, or an NP205, I might be interested. Problem there is that I think that route is even more expensive.

Or the 3k for a gear vendor?
Yes, that would be a good option. Problem is price. NV4500's seem to go for a lot of money, and then there's potential extra costs adapting it to the right NP205 and messing with PTO shafts and such.
I have two gladiators, one is going to be a drive around for fun truck, and the other will be a dedicated tow rig. This is for the general use truck.

Yeah, it's still up for sale. They want $750 bucks for it though. Found an AX15 in Spokane for 300, and one in Seattle w/ 231 for 550. Waiting to hear back from the owners.

I might be able to make things cheaper that way. In fact, I think I can even get gears for the Dana 53 and 44. The problem is my concern that the current transmission won't be up to the 350 I'm going to be bolting in. It's a T90 that's already making noises. I do have two spare T90's in the barn. I guess I could just swap them out as they break.
So yeah, I could regear, or swap axles, and then drop in a stronger 1:1 manual of some sort.
However, build time is largely a factor here. I can probably pay for the difference faster by working more and getting paid than all the running around and shop time to swap axles / re-gear in addition to trans swap.
If I have just a trans to swap, I can bolt it all up in a day and then get drivelines adapted to fit within a week.

It's halfway tempting, but I'm too lazy to swap axles or re-gear, even though I have a bolt on set right here.
The 5 speed will be more fun to drive and a lot less work. My other gladiator will be getting a SM465. Then I can enjoy dump truck shifting.
