Any one have a front and/or rear custom black bumpers that they will sell for very cheap?


oh and I also need a front axle vacuum shift actuator for my '85 cherokee. Anyone have one or knows of someone who does?

little bit of money but can be found cheaper at different places and sometime on other sites newsed (someone got it and different use it)

no it will work but the actuator itself isnt working, like it is broken lol... I would have to take a picture cuz I cant really describe it lol.

You can lock the disconnect so it is always in the locked position. Take the actuator cover off the axle housing (4 screws), the actuator arm slides back and forth on a pin, pull the little c-clip to get the pin out and add a few nuts on one side of that pin to hold the actuator arm in the locked position. Bolt the actuator cover back on and be sure to plug off the vacuum lines, problem resolved

....sooooo how would I be able to get into 4wd?

...imma plan to trade this jeep in and put money on a newer one ... so I dont want to do anyhting stupid ya know?

Same way you do know, just shift you transfer case into 4 wheel.

It doesn't hurt anything, essentialy you're making it a solid axle. Lots of people swap in solid axles, and the later year Cherokees and TJ's came with solid axles anyways.

Why do you think the actuator is not working? Do both front tires spin when you're in 4wd?

It just doesnt work thats all I was told when I bought it.. and I am not sure if the wheels spin. I havent done any major offroadin.. if I do what u said.. will I ever have to move the lever that controls the 4wd?

If you did what I mentioned you would not notice any difference from the way your Cherokee works now. You would still need to shift your transfer case lever into 4wd when you want 4wd.

If you plan on selling it I would check and see if the actuator is working before trying to fix it. Get in some loose gravel, put it in 4wd low, step on the gas a little bit to spin the tires, if the front tires spin and throw some gravel then the actuator is working.
