Trailer Wanted

Postby Casey » Mon Feb 15, 2016 7:37 pm

Looking for a trailer project, pretty much open to anything, just don't want anything too big. M416 style, ben hur style, newer, anything really. The idea is to have a utility trailer for anything I need, and make a rack to eventually make it into a camping trailer. Kind of want a project so I don't mind if it needs work
Anybody got anything like that they want to get rid of?

Just build one. My basic frame only took a couple of days to put together and I suck at this sort of thing. My next step is to build a simple rack for my rooftop tent. (see what I did there?)

I do like that trailer! How hard was it to get it registered? Or did you get it registered? I know a few I have found in Idaho aren't registered but I believe they have different rules depending on weight of the trailer

Just read the rules and make an appointment to get it inspection. Mine weighs less than 500lbs and has a 2000lb axle. You can also buy a Harbor Freight trailer and modify it.

You can also check estate sales. We managed to find our 50's vintage m100 trailer at one.

A friend of mine has a Harbor Freight trailer he'll sell for $125. 4'x8' deck, street legal with lights. If you're interested PM me and I'll get pictures to you.

Roman, I'll have to drag it out sometime. I modified it to work with my 35's by changing the fenders and I added a max coupler hitch due to the lunet being long gone. It also has a custom topper added to it which is the reason I got it so cheap, no one knew what it was. Grabbed it for $400. 8 years ago

was planning on going to boise saturday to get a trailer built out of a samurai tub, he's asking $1250, really cool and has some cool features like a built in table, and the stock gas tank with skid, pump and hookups to pump into your jeep or whatever. I really wanted it but I recently got a job in Alaska where I will be starting training end of march, and I could just use the money right now more than a trailer. I can post the link if anyone is interested! Really nice guy that did all the work and it sounds like he knew what he was doing

I will be looking again in a few months when I have some money saved up, and might decide to build my own as well
