NP231 or NP241

Postby Fab_man » Thu Apr 07, 2016 8:02 pm

Looking for a donor for building a crawl box. I just need the planetary and related components (front case can be cracked but ring gear must be intact)

Planning on doing a SYE and possibly and upgrade of the planetary gears to 4:1 in a few weeks. You can have any of the old stock stuff out of the case when I swap out all the innards. My case is a NP231 out of an 04 TJ. I don't really know if any of this stuff will help in your application though.

Scratch that... I checked and it's actually a 242, not sure if that will work for what you need.

Let me check with the vendor but I think it might work as a partial donor (I think I need a shift collar from a 231 still)

I need to see how the planetary cleans up....was alot of trash in there (fine AL powder from the tossed chain) it spins but not very nicely. hoping it frees up a little better with some cleaning.

Well back to my Toyota....more parts showing up today!
