These are what I would consider consumables, and as such would look for new items, they're not too spendy. And stick with a wire antenna, it'll live longer!

SS base loaded CB antenna. I've had mine on the last two jeeps for 5-6 years. Befrore that it was the 102" whip, but got tired of dragging that thing thru the woods! This is damn close in performane, and much more compact (realtive term) you can flog whips all day long, where fiberglass will crack.

thanks i picked up a cable and am now just lookin for a antena i like the magnet ones as i will probly be movin it over to another body soon

102" whips aren't a good idea in the mountains. With and 8 foot reach in any direction, they live up to there name, "whip" around and hit anything within that 8 foot radius.
If you looking for a mag mount, I've had good luck with the Little Wils. About a 30" steel base loaded antenna. You can get them at the CB store in Pasco off Oregon and Lewis (don't remember the name).
