I am starting to tear into my old 81 Toyota longbed so I can make a wheeler for my oldest son. Currently i have a beat up pickup, needs new motor. I tore the poor whipped bed off of it. Just tonight i did score a 87 efi 4 cyl with the computer harnesses, trans etc with 63k orig. miles on it for $400. so basically that is what i have to work with. My son loves the bobbed idea. He actually wants to do something like Commando's Jeep bed. I am open to suggestions, comments etc. Oh it does have a 5spd trans/xfer case out of i believe a 94 Toyota 4cyl...

so are you buildin a first gen or the 2nd get with the axle outta the first?

personaly i like bobbed beds more than flats.....
id run the '81 with the 5 spd dual cased 22re cage 63' and RUF swap cut and run some skinny 36" tsl

but i dream a lot

Its a first gen 4x4 stock with the exception of the 94? tranny/xfer case...
