Do you still have the stock mounting bracket/light? They always worked pretty well for me...
Yep, I've wheeled one of those, too...

Um, maybe buried in the place I used to call a garage... But haven't seen it lately, might be looking at a replacement in the near future.

Building a capable off roader is easy, building a street legal one that you can wheel and then drive daily is the challenge...

Well Christmas was a good haul, between Ms. Mandi, myself, Brown Santa, & eBay we got a new Hi-Lift Jack, Mounts for the jack, and will soon receive mt front axle knuckle gussets...

And next week, possibly some inner sleeves to keep my D-30 kickin until I can find the appropriate amount of GOLD to upgrade to a D-44.... I'm looking at it like this, although spending money on the D-30 is silly, IF I don't kill it I might make a few bucks back if and when I can sell it (of course after finding it's successor)...

HELP! Anybody happen to have a shop, tools and a welder available this weekend?

My plans are to make some badly needed additions to my front axle and steering. I have my gussets for upper and lower Cs and some no weld axle sleeves that need to go on/in the front axle. In addition to this and most importantly I also have a JKS steering gearbox stabilizer, brace and new JKS adjustable front track bar. All totaled I have over $700 in parts, $500 of which wasn't really in my budget, but clearly necessary. It seems that my recent snow runs have taken a toll on said gearbox causing about 6 inches of play in my steering...

My buddy Brian is in the middle of a move and can't help. So I'm seeking a good welder that can help me get this all done preferably Saturday, so I can stay mobile...

Any takers? Please give me a call 420-0890

Thanks in advance!
Lance

Outside of dutch oven cooking, thread hi-jacking is pretty much what Peak Putters do... oh, yeah, and some of us wheel.
Okay, we're a little crazy to have a Duramax for a daily driver. But if we go off our meds, we might wind up in a Prius.

Well, the other day when I got home I noticed a clankety clank sound coming from under my hood but it was late and I had to get to bed, so I blew it off thinking it's just my header collectors loosened up again. Next morning I get up to go to work and think, I'll get it the next day when I get home, and head off to work my regular route up Olympia and out 397...

Before I get to I-82 that clankety clank got pretty loud and the power dropped out, then I get a multi port misfire code... Hmmm not going to be a good day...

I turned around, called work begged for 30 or so extra minutes and ran her home to find my header collectors loose, and a little low on oil. So I get that all squared up, but that sound isn't going away, seemed to be on my left side and reverberated through the exhaust, so I left the Heep at home and Rode the Harley into work about 45 mins late.

Next day I get home, listen to it again, a little worried that it might be something expensive... My buddy Brian says nurse it over to his, so I did. By the time I get to his the sound is gone...

:insulte

So we decide maybe it's heat related and let it cool down for 30 or so minutes....

Then we fire her up and there it is again, after looking around and listening we decide it's the Catalytic converter coming apart internally...

Luckily these things are covered under an 8 yr/80,000 mile warranty, and I'm at 6 years and 70,000 miles. So off to Lithia i go, they confirm it and order a new Y pipe, that should arrive today and get installed tomorrow morning gratis!

:yahoo

Thank goodness, now I can blow my money on more important stuff...

You need to get in the market for a DD. (All the cool kids drive Grands.)

Yay! Glad to hear it was nothing expensive.

Blow some more money! I am ready---whenever/anytime--- for what we discussed.

Yeah, well I'm gonna have to restrict myself from ebay though... I got a little over zealous today and won a bit for $614... A set of 4 Bilstein 5160 remote reservoir shocks valved specifically for a JK Unlimited with 3.5 - 4.5 inch lift.

I've been wanting a set... and at $800 retail, I think I swooped them for a fair price, now I just gotta get my hardtop sold to pay for them...
