Bomber Class . . .

Postby Roman » Wed May 30, 2007 6:21 pm

So after some talk with Roy, I'm putting this challenge out to all you.

Let's build some racers for the ORV tracks!

A stock XJ will work, a Toyota (Trash) will work, a old jeepster racer (Toby!) will work, a FSJ Waggy will work!

The Bomber Class comes from the fact that there will be rubbing on the track! Bumpers and nerf bars may be a requirement . . .

Needless to say, I'm in. How about a tubed out 2000lb Samurai with a pissed of Toyota motor, some high $$$ shocks, YJ springs and one EXTREMELY Loose nut behind the wheel (my kid is crazy)?

Partly an issue of too damn many rigs in my driveway, and the Scout wouldn't get done before the next ice age :glare:

But we'd still run the races. . .AND we have to have some sort of safety requirements.

Okay, you guys got the hamster running again ....

Fill me in on the proposed rules ... will they be basically PNW4WDA? Would the racing be a Horn Rapids?

I've been looking at Broncos and Bronco II's on CL, and there is several CHEAP. So, I'm in if we get this organized.

Will the races count as club runs .... I'm gonna have to have something cause we know my CJ is never gonna get done  :lol2

I'm thinking Jim can throw together a rules summery in his sleep . . .

But they will preety much be pnw rules, for safty's sake!
I am thinking smaller size rigs, ranger,broncoII,xj,mj,yj,cj,Toyota,s-10,ect.ect.ect.

Is anyone currently working on building a rig? You all have me kind of fired up about this, but I don't want to buy a rig unless we really are going to put a few races together.

Maybe we can organize some kind of a work weekend to strip rigs and build cages. We could even organize some kind of a group buy to help tubing prices. It looks like for around $600 I can pick up a Bronco II or Explorer.

There was mention of doing something with that Waggy that Jose and I drug to his house, too. Came up today at BBQ. Strip it out, get that 401 going. Could be a giggle
