Whatever you do get GOOD consumables! HF wheels & discs are 1000% CRAP don't waste your time. I get mine from oxarc in pasco but I'm sure Jose knows of a source closer to you.

Twin City metals stocks a lot of good common consumables and especially welding supplies, at lower cost than most places.

Twin city doesn't have too terrible of prices but I've bought so much at oxarc they offered me a 3/25 cash account. 25% off gasses and contractor pricing on everything else. Cuts the cost of my favorite doe skin gloves from $20 to $9 a pair. :D

Soooo, some progress. Of sorts. Finally found the piece I was missing, that was borrowed to finish the brakes on Steve's Scout. It's banjo boltish, short little critter that goes with the splitter block on the frame. Seems it's amde of unobtainium!!Even IHOnly dropped the ball on ti. Anyway, Alan (Binderfan) told me about some Scouts in a wrecking yard in Sunnyside. Went up there Yesterday, and they do have Scouts! And I now have complete brake lines. However, if you read back a few posts, I made a comment about the line to the rear being dry when I pulled things apart. Uh huh. Issue. Danny was kind enought to swing by to help bleed the brakes. No fluid out of the proportioning vale to the rear. Damn. I'm thinking the valve is either slipped to one side, or just bad. Going to try to recenter and see what happens. Suggestions are welcome!

Tonite I got the seat idea I had mocked up, and it looks good. Will finish that tomorrow, as well as study on the brakes.

I may make Liberty...

Boy, have I been ignoring this for a while!! Sadly, the poor old critter has been sitting while a few other things got taken care of. Can't say as some of it has settled down, but I have managed to get a couple things the last month or so.

First off, I snagged a Warn 8274 with mounting plate and roller fairlead. Has the standard Warn bumper, but will likely build something a bit stouter. Along with that came a few assorted IH parts I can use.

Also would seem Roy has been hiding a ScoutII out at his place! So, our intrepid President, the "Jeeper Chicks", and I slid out there yesterday and liberated the top! Now I have one that is intact and unbent. Makes me happy.

Pics, or it didn't happen. You know the rules.
Okay, we're a little crazy to have a Duramax for a daily driver. But if we go off our meds, we might wind up in a Prius.

While moving the thing around one day, I think I may have discovered a small, but important item. Some cull P.O. tipped the drive train toward the rear by dropping the trans. mount. I have no real clue, other than he may have thought he was making more room for the exhaust. What this seems to have accomplished is getting the t-case lever positioned so it won't go in 4 Hi :? I love the way some folks think
