I learned to drive in one of them things! F-head 4 banger with a 3 spd. That spare that's on it used to be the mud tire down home when I was a kid. Firestone musta sold a sqillion of 'em...

It's been mostly gutted. My brother is currently stuck, as some of the bolts holding the bed to the frame are stripped, rusted ect... and need to be cut out. When I have more time I'll probably grab a torch from the shop, or buy one. However, we have found some axles. Apparently, the neighbor across the road has a wagoneer with dana 44's behind his shop that he's parting out. He offered to just give them to us.
I'll bug my brother to get on here and post some pictures, there was all kinds of interesting things hidden in various storage compartments.

Unless the t-case in the truck is offset the right direction, you're not gonna want the rear out of that Waggy if it has Q-Trac in it. Diff isn't centered...

Ok, I'm confused. Are you saying that I'm going to want both the transfer case and rear axle out of the wagoneer? Is the 18 a bad transfercase? I was under the impression it was quite sturdy but I'm new to all this stuff. Of course, if it's not compatible with anything I can understand it needing to go away.
Yes, the willy's does have a dana 18 and funny looking centered timken rear axle.

I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong, but here it goes... If the Waggy has a Quadratrac (full-time) transfer case, the axles will work fine. If not, it probably has a Dana 20t-case and you'll want that. Jose, WT and others know better than I and they will post up.
Okay, we're a little crazy to have a Duramax for a daily driver. But if we go off our meds, we might wind up in a Prius.

All waggys of that era came with quadratrac and driver side offset axles, the Cherokee (mostly widetracs) could come with the D20.
The big thing will be small bearing hubs with flattop knuckles (thru '77) or the big bearing hubs without flattops ('78 and up).
Yes, that rig will have the offset D18 because of the OD has to have someplace to bolt into. The D18 should work just fine for that engine's power.
WT you sure on the OD? Thought Warn was the original, then Husky made a copy of it (seams like there was another one too but can come up it) and finally Advanced Adapters bought the Warn OD and started producing it under the Saturn name with a few updates.

Quadracraps are passenger drop not driver... The driver front diff rigs have 208's with them if'n I remember correctly. Now that you bring it up I think you're right, I got the OD history tweaked and the warn is the first then saturn by AA. I've never heard of the other one that I know of.
