Very nice looking. If I did it over I would have bought an automatic like you to put the Rubicrawler crawl box from advanced adapters on. Just something to put on the christmas list It takes your double low range to 10.88:1

Holy crap, that Rubicrawler box is stupid expensive. I bet you could do a 231/300 setup for half that. Yeah thats only 7.2:1 not 10.88:1, but honestly how often would you use double low on the trail? My guess is most of the time you're in single low any way. Not to mention... quick calc assuming you had a manual... 3.73x2.72x2.62x4.56=121.2:1....

While you know you'll never see me owning a rubicrawler I completely understand it's need. It allows a doubler without such a negative length penalty like normal doublers. It replaces the tailhousing rather than adding length to it.

Yes you do need to be lower sometimes. You'll never know it till you've had it just how fantastic the amount of control is.

Also, the Rubicrawler set up lets you use a 'normal' 4-lo without using the Rubicon 4:1 low, which is sometimes too low, ask me how I know. You can engage the Rubicrawler with the t-case in high and have , I think, 2.72:1 ratio.
Does me no good, I have a six speed, but I could imagine a auto TJ build built around that or a similar set up.

That's what I've got in the yota. It's pretty close to what I had when I ran Toyota stuff but it'll hold up to the V8 UNlike the yota stuff.

One thing to consider is with an auto you have roughly 1.6:1 reduction due to converter slip to add in there too. I doubt I'll be using double low much.

I saw the table on their site. It is a neat product and the way they package it makes it really simple to slap in and pretty hassle free, but that price tag is just insane. All I was saying is that I bet you could get a box4rocks kit and do it all yourself for close to half the price of that thing.

I can see some of those combinations yielding a retardedly low double low.

$1500. My 231 box for rocks to 300 was about $900 start to finish so I don't think a bolt in like the rubicrawler is out of line at all.
