1993 XJ
4.0/AX15/HP30/C8.25
Body is pretty straight, spent most of its life on the hiway with a guy that works for the lumber industry. Runs perfect. Sat around too long so the clutch slave went out.
Cold AC
Everything works.
So, the first mod (like how I did that), is to swap the internal POS slave cylinder for an external from a 96+ model. After a very all too recent experience, I will NEVER work on another one of these piece of poo internal slave/release bearing thingies again. . .
Simple process: Bellhousing, throwout bearing, Clutch fork, front bearing retainers and Master /Slave need to be swapped in from the 1998 tranny in the CJ. It is a perfect deal since that one has issues anyway and the CJ is in mothballs.
Then, while I am waiting to finish that, I figured I'd get brown santa on the way with a lift and some little tires, some welding wire, and a set of wheels (from REALLY brown Santa). I'm also getting a cord from Radio Shack so I can hook my phone up to the stereo. I like to listen to Australian Radio on the way to work. Those accents kill me. . .
Here's where we started and pretty much where we sit today:
