pull the jeep up a slight incline.

i have an extra remote. or wire up interior controls, or both.

The bad news isn't so bad when you hook things up correctly. The motor is still the weaker original and will get an upgrade but will work for now.

This winch came with no controls. The first one I added is just a SPDT switch on the solenoid box. Yes, always live but after running a buddies winch with the same setup, very convenient.

Then the lights and more winch controls adventure.
1: The light was a good test to make sure I was wiring the Switch-Pros correctly. Took a couple tries to get the correct wire.
2: The headlights suck so this will help if out after dark. Really need to do a light relay mod.
3: A Switch-Pros SP-8100, the buttons can be changed to a momentary switch, perfect for winch controls, one in, one out.
4: Another feature of the switch-pro is Bluetooth. Tonight's little walk allowed about 200' before the phone lost connection.
So what does this mean? I have control of the winch at the winch, in the driver's seat, or remotely using a phone farther than the winch rope is long. Lights and lockers can be controlled from the driver's seat or by phone too.

I've been fighting a weak rear brake system since getting the Jeep running. Front brakes work great but the backs, well could not get them to lock up which make it impossible to stop the rig in double low. One thought was I used the old worn out Isuzu flex & hard lines that came with the axle, one of them sprung a leak so it was time to upgrade.
A windy drive up to Moses Lake and ABC hydraulics yeilded a new flex line off the frame, two new flex lines to the calipers, two hard lines, and a new splitter block. All the brake parts came with 3/16 fittings instead of metric except the caliper banjos. Nothing like waiting until the last min. but got all the new lines on and bleed the Day before the next run. Have to say, having rear brakes that will lock up, even in double low, is every nice giving the Jeep a very different feel on the road and trail.

During the last min scramble, I also added 1" longer shackles 5" to 6". Wasn't sure I wanted them, trying to keep it low but thinking the springs settled a little or the extra front weight up front. Again, gave the Jeep just a little different feel that I like and thinking I'll keep them for now.

Been awhile since updating but have done a couple small things.

To keep up with every other Jeeper, LED tail lights were added. We’ll my stockers were slightly beat, barely working, and the LEDs were easy, reasonably priced, and not sticking out to grab something.
And BIG surprise, the driver’s side is full of bondo.

The tires have been rubbing on large bumps, not so bad by yourself but with a pass. it becomes annoying. So out comes the grinder and off comes more bondo.

When Buying wheels and tires, I steeped up and got 5 of each. All good but was pretty sure the stock tire carrier wasn’t going to hold a 37 with steel beadlock, seems to be a heavy combo.

Plan was to build a carrier that not only could carry the tire but also be used as a “push” bumper Incase it’s needed in the snow.

Plan 1: was to mount the tire carrier off the bumper but just couldn’t make something I liked.

Plan 2: So looking around and found a design I liked but not quite everything I wanted. The center mount takes some of the weight and transfers it to the bumper. Also the plan is the bottom bracket will also “push” on the bumper of a train function is needed.

During the last run my rear locker stopped working. After pulling the fluid it started working again but the ring & pinion wasn’t wearing correctly.
Well, the solution was, let’s put JK gears in.

Pinion shaft is about 1/8” larger in dia.
Ring gear is about 3/8” larger.
