Doesn't appear there'll be too many bugs to work out of that part of things :!: Engine seems to run quite good, I think :D No funny noises or nuthin' :thu2: We are going to have to, at some point, maybe rethink how the clutch is lashed up :conf: It has about 3" of travel, and it's all at the top...

Motion ratio of the pedal is wrong. . .either just get used to it or make some linkage to move the connection higher up on the clutch pedal. It isn't hurting anything the way it is though. . .just wierd and it will feel normal in time.

Yeah, we've talked about building a stop under it. Terry will be putting new floors in it directly, so may have him do that at the same time. Steve thought maybe a slight reshape on the pedal arm may help, too. Overall, everything seems to work like Mother Nature intended :D

very sweet dave cant wait to see what it looks like with the lift and tires all done up

hmm five speed......whats the ratio of first on that bugger?

Ratios are: 3.83, 2.33, 1.44, 1.00, 0.79. D300 has 2.62 low range, and the axles 4.30. It should be more than good for how the critter is likely to get used

dang thats not entirely that low firt on a 465 is 6.5 but my 205 is 1.96 and then 4.56's and i want a little lower most likely in the t-case eventualy

Rethinking!and there is nothing worse than when I start thinking.

Since I am going to have all the suspension out from under my truck and the fact that I've always wanted some sort of prerunner.

I'm thinking of picking up some Deaver spring and staying spring under, while triming the fenders(that are all damaged anyways).

I still have to buy shock and moint towers, all the stuff I have ordered(spring plates,u-bolts,shackle reversal ect.ect.)will all still be usable in this application.

I think I just need the springs really, already have race seats and planning to build a cage.

So really to change to this style of rig wouldn't be that big of deal

Any thoughts are welcomed

I think you know my opinion on this. I have never been a fan of SOA in any application AND even if you "prerunnerize" it, you can still wheel it just as well.

What do you think?National springs or Deaver springs?

I think whoever will sponsor the race truck. Both make good stuff.

Is there a chance of this needing an upgrade to long travel yokes in the driveshafts? I also am looking into springs, as is Steve, I bet

If you do a shackle reversal in the front, it will need a long travel driveline regardless.

Whenever you have a lot of travel on leaf springs and the shackle is on the same side as the end of the driveline, then the spring falls away from the transfer case and moves a ton. . .

Okay, more look ups to do :!:

Dave Walters wrote: an upgrade to long travel yokes in the driveshafts?

The yokes aren't what gives it the long travel, it's the length of the spline on the shaft.

That's what I meant, knothead :!: Listen to what I mean, not what I say :D

when doing drive shafts unless doing high angle d-lines or somethin get tractor slip yolks they have stupid long slips for almost nothing compared to using "long slip joints" for trucks

Doesn't matter, now is not the time so I just going to continue with the original plan of the spring over.

Sorry for the confusion,

Well, I'm talking to Ron Dunn about springs, so may be...
