Well, things finally progress. It's been to the frame shop, and it was pretty tweaked. It's as staight as they could get it with only 2 rams. Guy figured as stout as the frame is, whatever it hit had to be a hurtin' unit :winkk: We took it over to Terry tonite so he can start on the floors and cage, and I'll get the springs to him tomorrow. I have the Waggy axle inside, and should have it stripped for rebuild in the next day or so.

Steve says it's close enough now that he's not going to worry about it. Thanks for kicking in the idea, tho :!: With Terry doing the work, there's no doubt it'll come out the way he wants it...

Well, there's some progress. Terry is to the point he's shaping the new tin for the floors, and he and Steve pretty much have the cage worked out. Tell you what, the boy got lucky on this rig! The rockers and outer edges of the floors are virtually rust free, and the body mounts are solid. There is a small amount of rust in the kick panels and the area at the ends of the step in the floor. Most of the rust was confined to the bend in the floor in the front foot wells. If any of you know a Scout's reputation for rust, you know this is damn minimal! The rust in the right rear fender well will be gone after Steve opens up the wheel arches to handle the 35's...Guess I best be getting some axles done, huh?

So while it still didn't roll out of the shop yesterday, we did get some good work done on the Scout. And any day I can take some Scout out of this "Scout" project is a good day . . .

Don't know why I'm surprised, some of the bolt/weld on parts don't fit out of the box! Good thing someone's good with a grinder.

We're back! After an extended period of dormancy, the Jive Turky is being whacked on again! Circumstances dictated the long time away, but now some work is being done.

Friday Jose hijacked Tim's trailer and got the old critter over to his place where we have access to real tools. Smal items like welders and such! I showed up in time to "help" get it off the trailer after work. Got back over early PM Saturday, and away we went.

What got done are some fairly big items for me. Jose got the drag link built and in, so now it can be aimed as needed, the rear d-shaft is in, and driver's seat mounted. Also replaced the battery hold down and ground cable that were robbed for Steve's BelAir. All seen to with some able cheer leading from Lee!

Steve fried some wiring at one point, so that got run down and fixed. Then came the biggy! With what was really a minimal amount of coaxing, the thing fired and RAN!!! Bear in mind it's been sitting for a long time!

Next major items are getting the front springs in right and the brakes done. Still not sure what's the plan for the master. Don't know if the stock one will be enough for discs. I'll defer to Steve and Jose on that one.

Anyway, there's progress, and I think Steve is feeling pretty stoked about it. Now we need some decent 33's to put on it...

Is it still going to use Radius Arms or are the stage coach leaves getting the nod?

He sold those to NickO and put on some MT/R's that now perform duty on Jose's Jeep. He figured 33's would be good for the way it's more likely to get used

HOLY SH*T!!!

go back and look when this thread was started! April of '07, and Steve had the Scout for a year and a half already.

That's FIVE YEARS of being a box of parts! It WILL roll out of my driveway very soon, as a fully functioning vehicle!!!

Wow! My build thread started in April of '07 too. Crazy how time flies! Let me know when you are working on the turkey, I could use some time rolling around in your driveway.
