if i remember correctly the later model wagoneer still uses the 32" spring pad width (same as a full size in factory form) thus making for a shorter short side and having to outboard the front springs.......could be wrong though

On a YJ? You don't "have" to outboard, but it would probably be the right thing to do. It is close enough that some people just let the bushings take the angle and still others use bushing spacers.

Fullsize GM is 31.5" same as the Waggy.
YJs are 30.75 so 3/4" need to either be added to the frame width or taken out of the diff. housing.

This was my solution with a 31.5" SRS spring mounting width adding 3/8" spacers on each side. After talking with the guys at WFO, they said a lot people just force the springs out but my understanding is it takes out the bushings quicker and personally think it looks like a hack job with the shackles spread out.

Jafo wrote:So, this weekend I went and sourced some more parts. I put on a cold intake filter and brought home a Isuzu d44 and some new seats, since the current seats had that mexi-cali lean to them. The seat swap went fairly easy with only drilling 2 holes per bracket. So now the cheap jeap has some wice to it.

I will still be in search for a dana 44 out of a grand wagoneer, narrow track, drivers drop. If anyone knows of one(Paul) let me know. It also sounds like I might source a dodge 231 since the have the wide chain kit since I can hear the chain slap in my current one. Still on the hunt for more parts, my goal is to be spring wheelin again.

got them same comfy seats in my 5 !! shucks clearance !!

Well just sourced the last axle needed to get this build underway, thanks to john and jose. Now the fun, uh money begins. Im really excited to get these axle goin and installed, I don't think my stockers can handle too many mall runs. More to come.

Now that this thing has changed ownership once again what's more important?

Fixing mechanical issues or getting rid of the square headlights?

Brother needed a proper wheeling rig, and this fit the bill.

Looks like there's a bit of a list to go through before this thing is mountain ready but it's mostly little things.

Speedo, Tach, Oil Pressure, Water Temp Gauges
Bigger Transmission Fluid Cooler & gauge
Transmission Shifter Bezel - Might have one
T-Case Linkage - I'm thinkin cable shifter
T-Case Chain - Might just swap in another 231 that's in the barn.
Replace Broken Wheel Studs
Re-size & Install rear CV driveline
Find & install front driveline
Clean Up underhood wiring and relocate computer
New front Shock Mounts
Winch - 8274 would be a good fit, as the bumper is already setup for it
Battery Upgrade
Tires
Dana 44 install for the rear - Have a NT Waggy w/ 4.10's in the barn

You need pictures. I don't think I've seen the new tires yet.

:thu: Nice! Who makes those tube fenders? I really like the tube fender look.

Those tires look familiar...

Are those from Dale?

Will you look to see if there is a "brand" name on those rear led's. I'd like to find a set like those for the LJ.
