I LOVE the idea of a roll down rear window in a 4 door. That's awesome.

I forgot to ask you when you got the new donor originally, do you still have the front bumper and valance off of the donor?

Cool, take lots of picks. Been thinking about trading my 1st gen for a 2nd or 3rd gen and doing this same thing. I love the removable top but with the kids a 4 door is looking more practical... is practical even a word that allowed in describing a 4x4 :?:

No concerns about rubbing the portion where the window sticks through the wheel wells or are the tires too big to fit in them anyways? On other builds they always seem to have the window stick up and not be able to roll down all the way and that just bugs me.

I don't think so I`m running 36" iroks if I remember correctly were the window frame is for the tire to rub u dub on it it would have to rub the body wheel well first and I had no rub marks on the cab.

the fix if it does bump stops I guess.

Postby Nukegumby » Tue Jun 03, 2014 9:03 pm

Do you need a really big steel gas tank to go in that hole in the bed? 8-) If so, I can help you out.

How about tossing a rub tube/cover down where the rear window drops to the wheelwell to ensure no FOD tire or otherwise takes out the glass? Just a thought...

Building a capable off roader is easy, building a street legal one that you can wheel and then drive daily is the challenge...
