Did I read something wrong? Is this really a 1999 YJ? From here that cage looks like the real deal.... More elaborate than anything I've seen among the club. Spring time is snow wheeling. Generally floaty radials work best. Tire pressures are often ran in low single digits. There will be some good Peak Putter snow runs in late April if you're interested.

Sorry this is a pet peeve.
The shoulder harnesses need to remounted or a bar need to be installed for them to drape over.
Shoulder harnesses are ONLY to keep the top of your body from moving to far foward in an impact. If the harnesses are too low (as you have them mounted) it will compress your back causing other issues.
You should look up the mounting per manufacture's specs but they should be about shoulder height.
Good to see more YJ builds.

It's not a pet peve it's a safety issue. If you want to compress your back and possibly end up in a chair for the rest of your days go for it. But don't think for a second I won't tell you I told you so if you come back on here doing a PSA through a voice to text app from a wheel chair looking like Christopher Reeve.
This is the basics on how to mount the harness. The 10* angle is compared to your chest, it's an 85-95* angle.
A VERY easy fix is to add a bar above the current cross bar and drape the straps across it then through the seats. I've seen it done that way many times, it is an industry accepted method.

I might be woozy from being in agreement with WT, but why can't you simply add a cross bar 2-3 inches up from the current one in the triangles? I don't believe it would have to be as large as the other, but still keep you from former Superman status???

So did this happen yet? Did you visit Uncle Tim? General Rule around here, Pictures or it didn't happen...
PS. In retrospec I'm going to disagree with the common theme here. The info presented while compelling is more directed towards the "RACING" crowd. I've thought about how many different ways you would have to WRECK in order to crush your spine, and in the typical wheeling we do I can't find many chances. Unless of course you spends a lot of time rolling off cliffs, catching trees or other vehicles, or high speed free falls, I think your current system might just get ya by...
But I could be wrong, right?

Well, hello, fellow angry squirrel wrangler! Dont let anyone tell you that 2.5's have no potential for putting down decent power.

Hey Drew, the e-locker is in the rear axle, not the front. What did we end up putting in the front? I can't remember.
That cage was fun, it started out a just a couple mods to the stock cage and EXPLODED from there. We miss you and Pat down here. Can't wait for RUBICON!
