I know Jimmy and Casey have builds on the road already, and Scumby is working on lifting his, and I have one sleeping :scared: awaiting it's build/rebuild.

Where ya headed, what direction ya building for.

I've been considering one. Just waiting for the right deal to come along. I'm wanting to do more of the overlanding thing in my little bronco.

I'm entertaining the idea also, but have too many irons in the fire currently.

We should find a junked triple axle RV/trailer and buy it just for the axles.

The goal of mine was to be able to be multifunctional. Rack with RTT can be removed. Not having to carry a trailer spare is nice if you match wheels and tire to the vehicle, and bonus it looks good! Was worrried the springs were gonna be too stiff but it rides really nice when loaded up, it has 1050lb springs in each side in the longest size they had for trailers. Really wanted Timbren but they cost about half of what I had in supplies for the trailer total.

Just sold the Jeep so I may be swapping the hubs to 5x4.5 instead of 5x5 hubs. Had to have custom spacers to fit the JK wheels on trailer hubs that were about $200. But I’m looking at an XJ with JK Rubi axles so I may not have to change anything!

The dimensions of mine are roughly 5x4 and it should fit about 6-8 of those black and yellow totes, don’t have enough totes to know for sure

Really like this 3'x5'x20" trailer . He had a shop make it it but then changed as they found what worked for them.

Little long but:

Y4?

Wouldn't they be a bit wide, and lots of extra material to dispose of after.

For axles I just bought spindles and square tubing, that way I could custom cut it to my exact size I wanted. And it was cheap. Can get round too, square was just really simple to set up the springs on

I bought all of my axle stuff from amazon. The 2000lb 60" axle tube with 1" spindles was super cheap. Like 50 or 60 bucks. I'm making some minor modifications this spring:

Going from 235s to 31s because it has trouble jumping over logs.

Lifting the fenders to clear the 31s and possibly moving the axle forward just a little (it pulls GREAT and it is super balanced with the RTT over the axle. I haven't had any issues with cutting corners on trails (Barber Springs, Bald Mountain, etc.) but. . . .see below. . .

Installing XJ leaf springs and MAYBE shocks. Let's face it, I drive like an A$$ so I may need some damping. and the 1000lb trailer springs are too stiff. The trailer spends more time in the air than it does on the ground. I did learn to put the cooler inside the Jeep when off-road so as to not break the eggs.

Including the RTT, I am less than $1500 into the whole thing.

Were running a 52 m100 trailer with a custom canopy made by the forest service, works great as a overland trailer and we've used several times to sleep out of. Made custom fenders to fit 35's on it and it has the same lug pattern as the jeep so only need to carry one spare. Also able to but the wall tent up to it so it acts as a spare bedroom when camping. When we got it it had a 2 inch ball but removed it and put a lock and roll hitch from kirby which acts as a lunette. Also fits a single mattress in it so really comfortable to sleep in.
