Motorhome tire removal help

Postby TJDave » Sun Jul 23, 2023 6:20 am

Long shot. Does anyone have the tools to remove 22.5" Motorhome tires? 33mm deep well socket, giant torque wrench to 450 ft lbs, and a suitable jack? I need to repair the rear Sumo Spring mounts on both sides. Easy task, except the rear duals are in the way.

I called Super Springs yesterday (maker of Sumo Springs). He told me he knows of the problem with Tiffins installation and asked if mine had turned from yellow to brown. He said the mount is probably bent and weakened. He said to add a 3rd bolt to each side. He told me to fill out the warranty form online. I did and sent him the Pic. He emailed me right back and said a brand new set of bright yellow Sumo Springs is on the way. No charge! Great company. I wish there was something else I needed from them. I would buy it. Lol. Now I wait. I'm going to attempt to remove the originals without removing the tires.

Awesome thank you. I'm going to order a torque multiplier set to get the lugs off. I'm sure there may be others on here who might have the need to remove a motorhome wheel one of these days. :!:

I might be missing something here but I was able to remove the wheels and tires off our motorhome last year when I replaced the tires. Granted, they are 19.5's, not 22.5's...

22.5s are torqued to 450 lbs.
Once I get them back on, I can cruise by Schwabby's and have them torque them real quick with their 8' long torque wrench. :)

New Sumo springs will be here Friday, torque multiplier set Saturday. But, I'm trying to get the boat ready for boat races this weekend. There's always something!
