Since we bought our ARB 12volt fridge over 6-years ago, it has been used and abused in a bevvy of different vehicles, each of them with their own unique form of storage and restraint. None of those, however, has included the ability to "easily" access the contents of said fridge... The constant struggle of yarding the fridge out from it's cubby, balancing it on a knee to hold it up while using one hand to open the lid and the other hand to grab a ham sammich has grown tiresome. It's time to become a real overlander and build a fridge slide

(OK I guess to be considered a
real overlander I'd have to buy one or be sponsored and given one, but

)
I started out with a pile of 2" x 2" x 1/8" angle iron and a pair of 150# load capacity full extension drawer slides in the 24" variety:

After some quick measurements from the aforementioned ARB fridge, I whipped up the tray portion of the program:

Because I'm chronically cheap, I couldn't see myself buying a handle of any sort so I pulled some 3/8" diameter rod out of the scrap pile, added some heat, and bent one up mydamnself:

A quick mock-up to confirm fitment on my patented cargo platform in the back of the Donkey:

With fitment confirmt, I added some paint:
