* 33's and Rims (Aquired, eventually plan 35's)
* 4-Point harnesses - DONE

Every thing that I've ordered is here except for the leaf springs I just ordered since I gave up trying to find them.

Now I need to find a hardware store to get some nuts, bolts, and studs that I messed up cleaning up and/or removing things. Since I'm new to the area any suggestions? I know I could probably goto Home Depot or Lowes but they tend to be on the pricier side.

Last item I'm trying to locate is a driveshaft. I've been told a front Toyota will work in the rear, but don't have the axle in place to get any measurements.

Won't be cheap but you'll get quality bolts:

M&M bolt, Oregon st and A street, Pasco

Fasteners, Oregon st, Pasco, next to ranch & home (thinking that is right)

Fastenals, might have something but they don't seem to be as nice about breaking boxes up.

sorry about last weekind i was trying to get ready and go to florence dunes.

A new Tacoma Screw store just opened near your house. Inbetween Broadmoor RV and the RV Park along the I-182. I just picked up some metric bolts for my spare tire mount. Nice guys, very helpful, and the bolts were less expensive than I thought they would be. They close @ 5pm. I showed up at 5:05 and they stayed open and found what I was looking for.

Just got the Crank pully back on and fired it up to make sure my batt light was just 'cause the alt. wasn't spinning... Well after 2 mins MAX of highish RPM the waterpump blew up in my face. I hope Autozone takes it back.

Lesson learned on buying parts from vatozone....

Went to install my Locker and found that the bearings were junk, so I ordered a bearing kit for my 'yota axles. Got it only to find out that the ARB locker uses the newer 50mm bearing instead of the older 45mm bearing.

After cussing and scratching my head I opened the ARB install guide to find out the difference... Now my question is where can I get this bearing yesturday?!?

I've tried, Six States, Autozone, A&M Supply, Applied Industrial, Kaman...

Best I can do is Monday but MAN I'd like to have something to work on this weekend.

I guess it wasn't an autozone part.... At least they didn't have it in the system.

Napa or baxters can order stuff from performance warehouse and have it the next day. You might also try AAW in Pasco. They are off of 4th. Get off 182 and head north on 4th and turn left onto boeing street, they are about 1/8 mile down on the left.

Napa had one and can get a second tomorrow!
...and they were about $3 each cheaper!

To set the backlash what tool do I need? A dial indicator?

Where to I measure to/from?

I think I might attempt to do this myself since it's for the front axle.

Yup set it with a dial indicator. Go to Randy's ring & pinion and there will be a good gear setup guide there to help you along....

I've got everything you need just don't thing I will have time until sunday. Have to get some yard work done and what not. Unless you wanna come do my yard work and I'll play with your locker

Anyone know what the backlash is suppose to be on a 83ish 4banger solid axle?

Found this on 4x4 Wire

Toyota factory spec is 0.005" to 0.007", while most aftermarket gear manufacturers seem to recommend 0.008" to 0.012". I always try to shoot for about 0.008". It is generally not good for any backlash measurement to be less than the specified setup number (etched on the side of the ring gear). It is also a good idea to watch backlash variation at 3 to 5 places around the ring gear. Overall, the backlash readings should not vary by more than about 0.002".

I'm at .009 (as long as I'm doing everything right ) and might just leave it at that and see if the future hold me needing or wanting gears first

Arrgh the frustration continues.

Got the locker done, and the diff back in the housing. Ran the air line and it's working, but I think I have some leaks to take care of.

Fought with the rear drum breaks and nearly got them completed.
Attempted to put the Toy/Zuk drive shaft adapter on only to find out I can't get the bolt in from the back side. Will probably end up just drilling 4 new holes in the flange.

Found out that with the current leafs there is too much drop and the front drive shaft hits the transmission cross member.

Found that my extended break lines aren't extended enough.

Got the steering knuckles back on (Thanks Scotty)

Got the Hi steer installed.

Well off to the internet to do some more shopping. The value of parts and vehicles is going up in my book. I used to laugh at people selling lifted Zuks.... I still probably will, but know I know why they try.

That isn't something you hear everyday.

LOL, yeah... I told my friend and parents who don't understand my desire to lift rigs and four wheel that my zuk was too big and I need to lower it!!


UPDATE: I "think" I ordered everything else I need. I have confirmation that one package will be here Friday don't know about the other two yet.
