Who's that knocking at the door?

Postby iaccocca » Mon Sep 08, 2008 3:48 pm

Brown Santa made the first of what will be many trips to my doorstep today. (My wife should be afraid when they send two guys to drop off my packages.)

Okay, we're a little crazy to have a Duramax for a daily driver. But if we go off our meds, we might wind up in a Prius.

More stuff is coming, but I am sticking with the stock control arms for now. The Jeep and I are already a little in the dog house.

I might recognize the boxes. I think you'll like the ride that lift has on 33's. Did you say you went with the ZJ/LJ springs?

Yep, ZJ/LJ. I carry alot of weight (lock box, winch, etc.) so those made sense. I ordered the kit with the adjustable track bars and JKS quicker disconnects. It also came with the motor mount lift and body lift that I already have, so I'll have those for sale at a bargain price.

My winch did not noticeably change my lift height in front. I think you'll be happy with that setup. I bought the same kit with the trackbars. It's very complete and great for 33's with a lower stance.

About the stock control arms. They're fine for that lift but I can show you how easy the rear lower arms bend on a rock. The front arms are fine. Roman has a great idea for boxing them up. Just get some 1" steel square tubing and drop them in the stock arms and weld them in.

Do you have plans for the replaced parts? I can start the pot for your next upgrade. Send me a pm if interested.
