a head shaving fund raiser anniversary to remember . . .
Lee, how do we look? Besides hairy!
Denis,
My hair and beard have grown back since our Peak Putters fund raiser from last year. Heck, I have had to have it cut just to keep my wife happy. Not willing to tempt her wrath again this close to our wedding anniversary I have decided to keep my hair this year. Meanwhile, José Ybarra, a long time club member and multi-term former President of the Peak Putters has been growing quite the head of hair over winter. He has offered up these lovely locks if the club will offer up $200 from the members. He has also grown a splendid beard that he plans on shaving before his next race (he is a member of an off-road desert race team, Rumble Goat Racing), but the club thinks he will look just lovely if the hair goes, but the beard stays and we are trying to raise the bar to $300 if that is his new look. No need to say, his wife is not happy.
We were so pleased last year with peoples generosity and Richard Spencer, my high school chum, joining in from the east coast. My understanding is that PNW4WDA, an association that our club is a proud long time member of, also raised quite a bit of money for the cause. José asked me to write and see if you wanted to pick up the challenge and join in this silliness again for the good of our troops. Also, we would hope the generosity of the club and friends of the club would be documented in your magazine. We were so proud to be featured in it last year.
Please let me know soon, I have my trimmers prepped and am itching for some revenge.
We greatly appreciate the work of Operation Light Sabre,
Yours,
Lee Retterer

Okay, we're a little crazy to have a Duramax for a daily driver. But if we go off our meds, we might wind up in a Prius.

A fully shorn Jose is not something I would like to see, but for a good cause, I would be more than willing to help

Okay Putters! Bring your wallets and checkbooks to tonights meeting. José walks out of the meeting bald if we raise $200 for Operation Light Sabre. Raise $300, and he loses his hair, but has to keep the beard... sorry Sveta. More importantly, if we raise more than $300 Denis Snow of Off Road Adventures magazine will add $100 to our pot and the club will again be featured in their magazine.

I don't like this beard more than his hair. Can we do other way around?
Everybody that got good pics of the head shaving please post them up here. If some are high resolution and you think they should be included in the magazine article, please also email them to me so I will have a hi-res file to use.
Thanks Jose (and especially Sveta) for being such a good sport.

I need a good shot of Jose and me with me holding the trimmers in front of the banner. If you have one, please post it here and email the hi-res file. Thanks, Lee.
