Ahhhh the Rubicon. It's been almost exactly 6 years since the last dance, and while I cannot say I'd forgotten how difficult the trail is, I can say that it seemed even harder this time. Granted I personally brought what amounts to a butter knife to a gun fight, but in general terms I think the overall sentiment from the group was the same: the rougher, more "extreme" version of the famed Rubicon of yesteryear seems to be back.
I have hours of video footage and well over a thousand still pictures to sort through, so as in years past I'll drop a few key tidbits here and work toward a full run report in the coming days...
Overall, the trip was everything we didn't want: it was HOT; it was CROWDED; and, we broke. A lot. And when I say broke, I mean like broke O-F-F:
Now sure, we've all seen a failed Dana 35 but this isn't what it seems, and that picture was actually at the very END of the trail, after multiple other far more catastrophic failures

More to come...
