So this is a trail that has come into the spotlight thanks to the bevvy of EweTooberz out there doing their thing on camera, and it caught my attention based on it's relative proximity to us combined with what appeared to be some stunning scenery and fun challenges. It's located about 2 hours Northwest of the border crossing at Osoyoos on Hwy 97, and the scenery absolutely delivered. With regard to the fun challenges... Well, I am speaking primarily for myself because I made the mistake of hauling a sketchy camp trailer with home-built suspension comprised of leftover parts, but it was more than I'd bargained for... In a big way. All that said, it was an epic trip and we collectively have a lot of pictures and videos to unpack, but I'll leave a few here for starters and let the others do the same, and hopefully I'll be able to stitch some of it together into a few minutes of video at some point in the future.
First off, just for some perspective, the Whipsaw Trail is technically everything highlighted in red and light blue, and in total covers about 45 miles between the red loop and the blue stringer headed due North. However... the part that matters is what's circled in purple... that stretch was about 12-hours over two days of legit, head-on-a-swivel wheeling:
Anyhoodles, here are some of the pics, more to come:
