This year's Pick up a Mountain was a blast. Great weather, no dust, and the fire must have scared a bunch of folks away. The Rangers and fire officials met with us at the driver's meeting, passed out maps, and showed us the areas that were closed. Funny/Moon Rocks was just opened, although not able to access from 1702 across from Jim Sprick Park. We didn't go there anyway. We chose Kaner from the very bottom, to the top. Then back down to Lilly Pond and down Milk Creek Rd. We followed Ed. Each evening, we watched the long line of firefighter trucks coming down the mountain after a long day. Impressive, and many thanks to all of them.
The usual spot we've had for the last 3 or 4 years
Lunch time. 5 TJs, 4 Desert Rats and one Peakputters Jeep.
Great time. Can't wait to go again!
