Cheese Squeeze, Bronco Edition 04Sept2022

Postby tobyw » Mon Sep 05, 2022 5:09 am

I'll never know how, and it may never happen again, but I ended up with the keys to the wife's Bronco on Sunday morning and the only logical option was to put it in low-range :lol2 Joining me on the escapade were Mr. & Mrs. Dryside in their white JKU-R, and Rottwheeler and his daughter in his Sting Grey JT-R. We met up and launched from the West Richland Maverik around 0800 under beautiful blue sky and calm breezes:

Everything looking tidy at mission control as we were Westbound and down:

After the requisite pitstop at the Circle-K in Naches, we breezed on up Hwy 410 to FS-1708 and stopped to discuss the options for airing down, and ultimately decided to head further up in elevation before doing so:

We took a left onto FS-590 to keep clear of the heavy traffic on 1708 while we aired down:

With squishy tire goodness achieved, we eased back onto 1708 and continued our way up toward the top:

We took Upper Woodpecker instead of 5-Fingers:

After a quick discussion of the options, we decided for a show with our lunch and took the right turn toward the rocks:

Much to our dismay, the normal beer-fueled scene was actually quite tame and poor decision making was alarmingly non-existent. We ate our sammiches at a reasonable vantage point anyway, just in case anyone got any good ideas:

Once the lunch sacks were empty, we again conferred over the options and decided to run down the backside of the Moon Rocks and out to FS-1702 on down to Hwy 410:

Albeit slightly dusty, which is exactly what we expect from Naches in September, the day was absolutely perfect. Good friends, good weather, and good trails. Can't wait to do it again, although probably not in the wife's Bronco  8)
Yep, I've wheeled one of those, too...

In case anyone is interested in watching the IFS do it's version of articulating:

Yep, I've wheeled one of those, too...
