Our fragmented group included myself in the Bronco, Chris in the JT-R, Mike in the JKU-R, and we'd eventually meet up with Kevin in the Green JK-R and Brayden in the Taco. We met up and launched from the Maverik around 0700 in relatively clear but breezy conditions:
As we rolled West, the skies started to look less and less inviting:
Back to the East, however, incredible things were happening:
After a brief phone conversation with Kevin, we made a quick pit stop in Yakima for some supplies on his behalf, and then proceeded into uncharted territory via Cowiche Mill Road:
Before long we found ourselves needing to air down, as the snow was remarkably unforgiving even on the slightest of inclines:
We met up with Kevin and Brayden at their friend Randy's cabin, and headed up a couple of different trails on the 160 acres of property he owns:
At the top of the hill, we stopped to make a little warming fire because Randy just had to try and out-do my ammo can fire pit
We pulled the hot foot out of the oven to enjoy by the warm fire:
With bellies full, Mike and I decided to tackle the last remaining climb up to the property line, and were greeted with an amazing view with the sun seemingly right in our back pocket:
Sadly, it was getting late in the afternoon and I had it on pretty good authority that I shouldn't be late to a previous engagement for the evening... So we headed down the hill with the sun setting pretty hard on the jagged horizon:
We said our goodbyes the Kevin, Brayden and Randy and headed back out Cowiche Mill toward civilization, and stopped at the staging area to air up for the road trip home:
The day had included so many fantastic elements it's difficult to say what was the best thing about it; good friends, good food, new-to-me territory, the list goes on. Can't wait to get back into that area and continue to explore it

Re: New Years Eve Run 2022
Italian sammich and perogies... Both warmed to perfection and consumed at a high rate of speed. I didn't get any pics of the results but trust me when I tell you, this oven is probably the best vehicle modification I've ever done. Ever.
