Pick up a Mountain 2023 was another good one. The second "glad I carry a spare" event in my wheeling career. A few Peakputters and Desert
Rats lined up at the Jim Sprick gate shortly before noon Friday. There was a gatekeeper this year keeping us out until 12:00. We were still able to claim our usual Putter/Rat PUAM spot back by the river. Camp setup and fun began as the rest of the crews arrived. We took inventory of cooking devices and started making a plan for cooking duties on Sunday. Saturday the group headed up Clover Springs Road to pick up trash and then find a trail to run. We found small bits of trash here and there on the way up to a lookout. Not much, which was good to see. Someone should chime in on which trail we took from there. 697? I can't remember. A 4dr JKUR and my JLUR followed the short Jeeps without a problem...almost. As the the trail got tighter and tighter, we came across a small murky muddy spot in the trail. But, it was just big enough to hide whatever sliced my 37" sidewall wide open. Whoooosh! A sound that could be heard by everyone in front of, and behind me. Thanks to the help of many, we were back finding a way out from wherever we were in short time. Back at camp, we ate more, planned breakfast more, and enjoyed hanging out with great friends. I think Dolly won more stuff at the raffle than any of us. Breakfast making was fun, but a lot of work. 5am prep call was a bit early!
I'll post the pics I have. Please post yours.

A few more photos. Putters did a great job for breakfast on Sunday. There were at least 80 reasons Dolly did well in the raffles.

I don't Text (at least not very well), I eat Blackberrys, and I only Twitter after sex...

Looks like a great trip, tire casualty notwithstanding... One of these years I'd like to attend and help out. We are almost out of the minion sports era
Yep, I've wheeled one of those, too...
