New to the board

Postby Wrench » Sun May 31, 2009 1:24 pm

Hi everyone!

I live in Pasco. I have a 1999 Merc Mounty as my occasional offroad rig, and a 1984 Jeep Cherokee for hard wheelin'.

The Mounty has 31's, a 5.0 with Torque Monster headers and SCT retune, axle flip in the rear and torsion twist in the front. It has the factory 3:73 gears and posi in the rear.

The Jeep I got for free, and have been building her up from bone stock. The 4-banger had serious knocking issues so I did a full rebuild on the engine, installed an EFI intake manifold, and fabbed my own adapter plate for the Weber carb. I made my own 5+ inch lift, which seems to work very well. After running her through the Benton City mud bog earlier this year, I discovered the rear 4:10 gears missing a few teeth, so I am currently in the process of installing 4:88's front and rear. While I am at it, I'll be installing a Trac Lok in the rear and trussing the axles.

I hope to get the Jeep back on the trail here this month and meet some of you!

I used to wheel an Xplorer. Miss the thing, but not for wheeling.

Welcome!

Yeah, its not really my wheelin' rig. More like a luxury tow vehicle with decent off-road abilities.

Well, I'm a farm-grown dude. It has leather seats and that's luxury to me. 8)
