I guess I'll spill it. :) On 2003 and newer Wranglers with the 42rle auto tranny, the shift interlock shaft is notorious for breaking. It is inside the shift lever. When it breaks the Jeep is unable to shift into park or first gear. The only fix is to buy a complete shift assembly from the dealer, or use a chopstick inside the shifter. I went with the chopstick. It has been working great for almost 2 years. I also carry spares. :lol:
